My husband an I have always been very blessed. Anytime we have needed extra money, we have been able to get a job to earn the money. We have both worked 20+ hours of overtime at our full time jobs at one point or another. We have both worked a full time job AND a part time job at some point in our lives. However, I dont want to ever have to do that again! So I am looking to make some changes in our budget so that we can put more money away.
One of our biggest areas of spending is on food. I must admit, that we eat out far more often than I would like. That adds up quickly! I have been trying to create weekly menus so that we always have a plan. That way eating out is a planned event and not just because we dont know what to make for dinner!
However, I feel like I am always making the same things over and over again. So what I really need is some new recipes. Any ideas for healthy, inexpensive meals are appreciated!
What do you do to cut food expenses? What are your favorite healthy, inexpensive meals?

We like to make bean burritos. They aren't very expensive, they're pleasantly filling, and they taste great.
We also like to make our own pizza. We have a breadmaker though, so that makes it easy.

What kind of toppings do you use on your pizza? My husband loves pepperoni, but it is so expensive anymore!! There is a local grocery store that makes great, inexpensive pizza crusts. But I am always at a loss for what to put on them!
Thanks for the advice!

We put tomato sauce, cheese, and sliced red bell peppers on them. We like things like chicken, feta cheese, mushrooms, etc., but since we're economizing, I find that the peppers add a nice flavour and it's a pleasant meal with salad or other veggies.
