Just recently, my daughter started to lose her interest in eating. I have done all possible things to make her eat, cooked her favorite meals and even bought food that she really likes, But still she is eating too little. She's not sick or something. How would you manage your children who are eating too little?

If you child is not sick or loosing weight I wouldn't worry too much. Children seem to hit an age usually about two or so, some wait until three and they just don't eat as much. If they get hungry they will eat. So check with her doctor and as long as she is not loosing weight don't make to big of a deal about it. She will eat when she is hungry. If you do make a big deal about it this can be one thing that she picks to take power over. My daughter was a big eater until about two and a half and it seemed like over night she started picking at her food and not wanting to eat as much. But she is still growing and gaining weight so I serve meals like I always have we have breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. She usually eats pretty good at lunch and has eaten little to nothing for dinner. She was 11 weeks early so I have a feeling that is why she was such a good eater for so long as she was catching up but now she is right on track. I try to incorrage her to eat but I don't force her. We are not a clean your plate house as she is the one who knows when she is full and I don't want her to get used to cleaning her plate as my side of the family has weight issues and I don't want to give her bad habits about eating. So I say as long as she is healthy don't worry and just make sure what you do offer her is good for her and don't load her up with junk. My daughters biggest junk food is fruit snacks. We don't have dessert at our house and she might get a cookie every couple of weeks. She has never had a big sweet tooth and I will not train her to get one. She does like her strawberry milk and even that is once in a while. She doesn't like chocolate milk she likes her regular milk and I hope that stays I want her to healthier than I was as a child and I don't want her to have lots of bad food habits to battle like I do when she is older.

Thanks a lot... I just worry so much about her not eating much because she gets sick easily and having poor nutrition might add to her low immune system. Although I also give her supplement everyday. I will take your advice and see how it will go. Thank you.

Hello,Desertsong. I also have a daughter who is as young as yours. She is very picky when it comes to her food. She only wants to eat food are sour tasting or sweet. Problem is her health is not good ,too. But I'm glad that she is gaining weight now. What I did or doing is that I let her help me prepare the dish.If it is vegetables then I let her peel some beans or just anything then, I'm letting her watch me while cooking. In this case, I ca encourage her to eat because we prepared the meals. She felt glad that she was able to help and thus she eats her meal. Sometimes, pretending those food to be the food in her fairytales. Like, cucumber as the rampions eaten by Rapunzel's mother. Or the mushrooms which Alice ate that's why she grew taller or smaller. Associate her food with the things that interest her. Sometimes it is very tiring because while she is eating I'm telling her a story related to what she eats. But, it is worth it. Learn to improvise with your stories. Goodluck to you.

Hi thanks for the advice. I will try telling stories to my daughter. She is eating already but she keeps the food inside the mouth for like 15 minutes or so...Another issue yet to be resolved.
