Do you or your spouse do the landcaping or do you pay someone to do the work? Do you enjoy it? One of my neighbors is a landscaper and he does mine and a few of my other neighbors for a minimal amount.

It is always easier if someone else is doing the work but many people enjoy doing it theirselves.

When I lived back in FL, I LOVED working with my flowerbeds :) But here, there's so many rules and regulations, it's a waste of time and the fact that we are only here for a short period of time, why waste all the money.

Nobody does our landscaping, as it is all dirt in the desert. The roads are dirt too. Easy to take care of. If it should rain, rarely, and a weed should grow, I go around with weed killer and squirt it. That's it.

Must be nice not having to do any landscaping. :-) Fortunately, my neighbor likes landscaping and does most of mine and my neighbors.

We both do the landscaping. When it comes to taking down trees or any of the heavy stuff. He does it because of my bum leg. But when it comes to flowers and planting. I do it.

I have my son pretty much cut lawns and shovel walks. For landscaping I just have someone come do it once in the spring and again in the fall before winter if I can.

That is nice of your son to cut your lawn for you. When I was living with my parents, I helped with mowing the lawn and the leaves.

My neighbor does most of the landscaping for me and my neighbors. Of course we pay him for doing the work since it is hard work and takes time. He loves making everyones yards look nice.

That is nice that you did not have to pay for the landscaping. I would rather pay and have it done right or the way I like rather than depending on an apartment complex doing it. :-)

I do the landscaping of our yard. At times, I wish could have someone else come and do it for me lol. But I really do enjoy doing it myself. That way I know it gets done exactly the way I want it to.

I couldn't agree more that if you do it yourself, you know it will get done the way you like it. Sometimes the other person doesn't get it done the way you want.

We love doing our own landscaping. But the problem is that we have the same interests when it comes to color scheme. We need to branch out a bit more and add different colors and textures to the garden. It is really enjoyable to work in the soil and get your hands dirty. You really get so much more out of it when you do it yourself.

front yard - front yard in the spring
I do my own. I love working in the garden, and planting flowers around the yard. I like to keep it simple too though. Some years I will have more flowers than other years. Some times there is just so much going on on the farm all I have time to do is keep things trimmed up.

Actually, I live in a apartment complex...I don't have to do anything....But, when I visit my mom, she loves for me to get out there and help her in the yard.. When I get into a home of my own, I'm def. getting a landscaper, I don't have a green thumb and don't like mowing the lawd "UNLESS" it's a riding mower..lol

I do my own landscaping cause I enjoy working outside and tuning in with nature. Hubby helps sometimes but I do most of it. I mainly have perennials in my flower beds but thinking of planting sunflowers, marigolds, and maybe zinnas this spring in their own bed. I used to do that and just let them self-sow for following spring.

We also live on a base, so Uncle Sam does our front yard. Our backyard is fenced so we take care of it ourselves. My husband usually does it, but when he's not around I deal with it.

We use to do our own landscaping. My boyfriend went to college for that. The only problem is that there isn't that many jobs around in that field. But anyway, we have been pretty lazy about it for the past few years. The lawn gets mowed and thats about it. I did manage to plant some tulips last fall so hopefully they will come up this spring.
