I am going to buy a Microsoft Office but a friend of mine told me to just get a pirated version. I don't think the're safe. I believe that they're laced with spyware and malware? is my belief true?

Software piracy is illegal and that just means you're a cheapskate who won't pay for something that is something that should be paid for. If you want free, then Open Office works just like Word and is completable with it.

I suggest you to either buy genuine Microsoft Office or use OpenOffice which is free. I'm currently using OpenOffice, it's much smaller (in size) compared to Microsoft Office and it's free to use. (Visit OpenOffice.org) Plus, you can also open .docx documents there. However you look at it, using an unlicensed product is a violation and a crime punishable by law. It is always better to do what's right.

I have been using my pirated microsoft office for the past four years and I am happy to say that no spyware or malware was included. My only problem was I accidentally pushed the update microsoft and I since then signs like "your microsoft windows did not passed the genuine validation" or something like that would appear but i just ignore it and continue using my pirated microsoft windows hehehe ^_^
