Read a book on Belize. I've always was interested in Belize since they're the only English speaking nation in Central America. But it seems like Spanish speakers are increasing. The Baird's tapir is the national animal but they're endangered. The Mayan civilization existed here too and there are a few ruins. There is a style of music called punta rock that originated among Belizean Garifuna people. People celebrate carnival here too and television got here after the 70's. Anybody from Belize or visited here? Or share more info?

Five years ago I went to Belize, Guatemala and Mexico. To get to Belize cheaply I got a charter flight from London to Cancun. I caught a bus from the airport to Playa De Carmen where I got a bus to Talum and spent one night there. The next day I caught a bus to the border, then Belize City and a ferry over to Caye Caulker. I enjoyed a relaxing few days there snorkeling to see sting rays and nurse sharks and going on a boat trip to see manatees. Then I went and stayed in a tree house at Bullet Tree Falls. From there I did a very exciting cave adventure which involved much climbing. Wow! Coming back into Belize from Guatemala I went to Orange Walk and had a lovely boat trip to a lesser known Mayan ruins. This over the years has been my favorite trip. I love Belize and this amazingly interesting part of the world.

I went to Belize once on a cruise and it is a beautiful country. We went on a river tour and went to some ancient ruins. They had some pyramid things we could climb and see a whole bunch of the countryside. Belize also has beautiful beaches and very nice people. I would highly recommend a vacation there.
