Hello guys, So many times in the past, I have heard the praise "Blessings becomes Curse" specially in some church sermons. When I first heard about this praise, i keep on wondering "How come a blessing becomes a curse". For example, if we are blessed with to much money, can we also say that it is a curse?

Hello,
I never heard yet that blessings is a curse, well, just now. Blessing is a good gift and perhaps what you mean is blessing comes with a responsibility. The bigger your blessings are is also how big your responsibilities would be. Not all can able to carry out well the responsibilities but God wont gave us such blessing if we are not deserving to receive it.

I often hear this word in the preaching of in our church. According to the preaching, a blessing will become a curse whenever we make the blessings our priority and forget the one that gave it to us. Thanks for your comment.

You're right my dear. Blessing can become a curse if we fail to interpret it correctly. An optimist discovers blessings in every curse whereas a pessimist will discover curse in every blessings. This rather depends on the way we look at things. Sometimes however, our perception changes over time and we start looking at the same thing differently. Money can be used for good purpose. But one who can think of nothing except his own pleasure will find money a curse. Some people use money to help out the poor. Some people, on the other hand chases money in such a way that he distances himself slowly from all his loved ones.

I think it's kinda reminder for us that we should always think that the blessings should not hinder us from worshiping GOD

Well, blessing is a blessing and curse is a curse. There are some people for whom life itself is a blessings. They feel blessed every single day. On the other hand there are people who feel cursed in their lives. This all actually depends on the way we interpret things. Money can indeed become a curse the moment we let it change our mentality. When I first started writing articles it was not for money. I created a blog to help engineering students who can't provide for private tutors. That blog was a great success. But then I discovered a way to earn through writing. Then everything changed. I started chasing money. It made me look like a beggar at times. But later I found out what's wrong with me. Then I realized that blessings can, indeed become a curse at times. There was this myLot member who fell in love with a very attractive guy. But when she found out that the guy also feels the same about her, suddenly all her feelings for him disappeared. When we want something, we start chasing for it. Then suddenly we don't want the thing anymore. We just love the chase and keep chasing one thing or other. This is when the blessing turns into a curse.

nice comment getbiswa, You are right. Whenever we start focussing to much on the blessings, we started to become like a drone or a robot. We let the blessings controls us and not the other way around. When this time comes, we now tend to forget about our love ones and other important things that surrounds us. It seems that the blessing is now our master which is very bad.
Thank you for your comment getbiswa.

The simple answer: "Too much of a good thing ain't good".
Take your example: A man is blessed with too much money. He went out, got robbed and killed. Get the idea?
I think a easier counterpoint is this: Who is the one blessing you? If it is your enemy, I don't think you will count it as a blessing, would you? I mean that he is STILL an enemy. Maybe it might not be a curse, but definitely still not a blessing...not even in disguise.

Yes. Too much of blessing is also not good especially when you forgot to thank the One that gave you the blessings. Thanks for responding
