Yesterday when I was going to sleep on my bed something bit me. At first the pain was not much, when I scratched the paining part I saw there was a black ant. The pain increased. Even now the pain is not completely gone. After this I felt that an ant could do much to a human even if its size is too small. When I was about 5 years old, a small ant went into my ear hole. That was really horrible. Luckily my grandmother poured some coconut oil and it was out. Hope most people would have encountered with an ant.

Hello Sham,
Ha ha, I remember a story I read for my kids about an ant. An elephant himself announced as the King of the jungle and he managed to scare all the animals in the jungle like Lion, Tiger, Fox and Monkey. Finally he met the ant, the elephant told to the Ant too, ‘I will be the King of this jungle’ but the ant ignores him. Elephant got angry and tried to catch him with his trunk then the ant get into the trunk and started to bite till he changed his word and asked an apology.
Sham, some ant’s bites are painful, especially the black large one. I think you could rub the leaves of Thulasi in the place when you got a bite. Apply some ayurvedic medicine if the pain still exists. Ants are very common in your place so be careful next time.

Ha ha ha.
I guess now you have learned a lesson. Never lie on a bed without trying to look if something tiny such as that ant is there.
For me, the moment i entered our bedroom , i would feel the sheets of our bed with my hands in order to see if it is dusty or what not. And to think that all the windows are closed ! LOL !
I am so paranoid of having everything thoroughly clean and orderly. LOL

Trust me, an ant crawled into my pants and had to bite in the family jewels...TWICE! However, Im surprised a black ant bit you. They are naturally more passive than the red ants. But when you think about it, the ant has those enzymes or whatever in its jaws, so when it bites, it invades the skin and the body's basic defense is to localize it. So thats why it swells and causes pain. Remember, those ants outnumber us maybe a hundred thousand to one or more...Eitherway, We all recover from the ant encounters.

Strange, because in the Philippines black ants are known as friendly ants, because they don't bite. Maybe it's a different kind that bit you. We have the common red ants here, the black ants, and the ants that seem to be a combination of black and read, and are much smaller than the normal ants. The first and the last bite, but the black ones don't. Then there are ants in tress, red big ones that give a helluva sting. Surprisingly, these huge ants are caught, cooked and eaten!
I have experienced getting an ant into my ear, and it biting me. It gave me fever for a couple of days.

I have been bitten by ants a lot of times in the gardnen and it didn't really cause any real problems. Several times I have disturbed a nest and had hundreds of them biting me on the arms and legs or wherever they could get to me. It stayed sore for a day or so, but then it settled down and felt more comfortable. I think it is best to keep the bites clean and that will take the stinging sensation away. I always used TCP. I am in the UK but I guess ants in other hotter countries can be more agressive and painful when they bite. _Derek
