Do you "REPORT" you're own POst? :-s

Hello Lotters,
We all know the problem with mylot sometimes. When there's too many users using the site or somethings' wrong with the browser, loading mylot website can be very slow. I noticed that most users tend to be impatient that they kept on pushing the refresh button and ends up having more than one post in another lotters discussion. you can actually press space bar to hasten it i think.
So, in this regard, some users have "double post" in posting. sometimes i see three or four post in one discussion or response. well, I do report my own post if i post it twice, specially if it's a self made discussion.. I am not sure if you do the same though.
How ever, here is the technique. but only for those who have copy-paste capability. if you feel that you're internet or browser is slow, i think you should consider typing it in a word program. so that when you post it won't either disappeared or slowed down to nothing.
as for less than 500, I did copy paste but it was only good for five to 40 characters, i tink. but it's better if you put it in the box instead.
Have a nice day every one.

I have great internet service so am not one that has this type of issue. I can say that one time about six months ago I noticed bad behavior where as I posted and the comment went in double.
So yes, I did press the (!) and reported it, because firstly it would be wrong to earn the double for something that I did not intentionally do. Also someone like me with a high reputation do not want to be considered as a cheater or something like that.
I see that issue quite a bit on here where as members, especially the mobile users post a comment and or a started discussion and it is listed twice and or three times.
It is my personal opinion that it is better to report my own mistake then perhaps have admin and or another member report as too many would make it seem like I was cheating.
It happens a great deal but some members sometimes are so in a hurry to get the next participation in that they do not realize they are double entering.

I can't respond now because I was about to say exactly the same thing
It very rarely happens to me either but when/if it does then I reèport my own posts too. Anything to keep things clean and tidy here!

Hello hardworkinggurl,
Yes, I do have a good internet speed once. but unfortunately, due to high cost of the internet service provider, i was forced to lower my internet speed and get used to the lower speed connection. from time again, i experience loading problems and it's kinda slow enough to make me have a double post. we all have to report double post since there is no use making another similar if the other has read the first post.
Have a nice day

Absolutely as my thinking is that perhaps members who respond to the later discussion will then later get their comments deleted and be quite unhappy, and also believe I was doing it intentional.
So I feel that it is best to report as I would not want members to lose out on their efforts, especially when they might have commented with valuable information.

i have also done it in the past. when things got rough, i copy paste from the response box. i refresh the page so i can check if i have already posted the response of the comments. if i made a double post, i report it immediately.

Hello Neildc,
How are you? I also report the double post only started late last year. but there are times that am not reporting it since some one else is going to do it later on. if not, then i go back and have it changed. yeah, copy paste is better way to save the post most specially if the post itself is long.

I do report my comments if they go through twice. I've never had a discussion go through more then once but when I have left comments twice they have been doubles so I reported them to mylot. I dont want to get in trouble for breaking the guidelines and having them think I did it on purpose. Plus it drives me nuts when I see others with double postings up so I report them as well. I think its only fair to report it if we accidentally have a post go through more then once.

Hello Shaggin,
None of us wanted to break the guidelines since admin is nicely strict with it. but of course, in my case, i do myself a favor before some one elses does. like you, i also report those discussions, responses and comments that are a bit doubled. heck, i even report my discussions if it's doubled post.thanks for you're response, have a nice day

Hi LetranKnight,
Thanks for sharing this great piece of Info. I had read on a discussion that she reported her discussion as it did not appear in the correct category. I learned that and have hopes of doing the same in case anything of such a kind happens to me.
Today I learn that I can also report my post in case it has been auto-duplicated because of my refreshing the browser. I would use it for sure.
Till date I never bothered to do on the few occasions the auto-repost happened. But this seems to be better.
Thanks once again.
Regards,
theSids.

Hello sid,
Well, when you wait the loading long enough, it is tempting to refresh it until realized you have made such a double post for sure.am glad you learned something today, but of course, if this happens to you at least you know what to do just in case.

ryan^^ i missed your discussions ^^ im so happy that you continue creating discussions so i can answer it when i have time^^ i think thats sweet of you to give advises to other users about a better way to dont lose our comments. thats normal that sometimes comments appear two times instead of only one. is cute of you to give advises to users about try to avoid it^^ anyway that happens by accident but is ok if you report your own so they can see that you did that by accident :)

Hello Sweetie,
Well, thank you. It's the only place where of interest where i can still share my insights and opened up issues to newbies since i see a lot of people joining and asking questions in their discussions that repeats over and over again. so, some one needs to step up and say something with out insulting others. yeah, it does happen most specially when the loading was taking too long.
What I missed is not only you're discussions but our own conversations too. but it's good too that you start getting busy there. hope we can talked again some day. have a great day to you (mwah)

Yea it has happened to me a couple of times that i posted two same discussion by fault but i never reported my own discussion because this will result in decrease in my rating in that particular interest. So i keep away away from reportimg my own discussions. Happy mylotting. Regards, harry.

At the bottom of our own posts we have the (!) icon for that purpose. We can help keep myLot clean by reporting when mistakes happen, Sometimes it is due to connection problems and our ratings wil not be affected if we report our own posts..

Hello Harry89,
Of course, it does. what if it was a violation on double post and you couldn't avoid? would you risk being reported instead? we need to be set an example to new people here so that it will not be prone to some abuse. i hope you would understand that mylot is a community of good people interacting with each other.

I have reported my own. What happens with me is, when I hit the "post response" button, there is an error and so I hit the "back" button. If I am thinking, then I should copy my post and then hit the button where my posts are started to see if it posted. Instead a couple times I wasn't thinking and I hit the "Post Response" button again. So I report it. Unfortunately sometimes different friends will respond to each one and some don't get credit because they post in the one mylot deletes..:(

Hello elsemarie,
you seemed to be off topic but i will answer it though, am surprised you got aware of this. I was just upset and probably alarmed that people that when they joined in, they tend to make a lot of mistakes first before getting it right. by making this awareness some people are learning to avoid it. as long as the admin isn't doing anything about it i will keep posting awareness....

Hello Suggar,
It's been happening tome a lot often lately to me since my loading speed has slowed down after downgrading my subscription. but i have almost used to it, it's hard to do internet when it's a bit slow but it's affordable and still i can save some money on it.

Hey Letran,
I just reported a discussion a while ago. It was against the Discussions Guidelines of myLot. The discussion was about a person who introduces cashgopher and also, posted his/her referral link. It became my habit of using myLot.
Have a Nice day!

Hello Blacksun,
Well, that is indeed an obvious violation and it's not good keeping it in this site.i don't even like cashgopher since it was meant to spy on you or something. but luckily i didn't fell for it since it's using windows applications only. mylot is a habit indeed and i can say a good one for sure.
