Are your teeth perfect? Did you fix them or not? Why or why not?

My teeth was horrible that I had to wear braces, retainers, braces, retainers & now I'm wearing retainers/night guard only at night {night card is because I grind my teeth} and.. I've spoke with some people saying I wasted money to make my teeth look perfect/decent.. and that you're born how you are.
But honestly, my parents wanted me to get my teeth fixed because when they were younger their parents didn't have the money to and they would want to get their teeth fixed if they could so why not let their child get their teeth fixed. I feel better and more convenient that my teeth looks better but I am mean it doesn't change who I am...
Are your teeth perfect, if not did you get braces/retainers to fix it?
Definitely, I know it is pricey so some people can't afford it but if you could, would you?
What are your views about people getting their teeth fixed? It's not like cosmetic surgery or anything ..

I would love to get my teeth fixed. I have never been able to afford proper dental care. At 40 years old now I have had to have too many pulled instead of root canals. My smile has suffered and now i am getting a gap inbetween my teeth in the front. I hope to be able to pull them all back in place and get a partial soon. I think if anyone has the chance to get theirs done they should. When you meet a new person it is the first thing you notice about them. If they smile and have bad teeth it reflects how you percieve them. I'm not saying that it is fair but it is the honest truth. It can also affect you in a job interview.

I don't judge people with not straight teeth, gaps but it is more of a self confidence thing I believe. I hope you can afford it some time :) Thanks for sharing!

My teeth is far from perfect. As I was growing up I could feel the pressure of getting my teeth fixed as most of my classmates were having it done. But we were not that well off, and couldn't afford it.
Finally, when I got my first job I went to the orthodontist to have it looked at. She said it was too late to get braces, but she did gave me some retainers to help my teeth push along the proper alignment. I used it for a while, until I also gave up that my teeth was hopeless.

You shouldn't give up. I know people who got retainers/braces at an older age and it worked out.

My teeth were really horrible until I got some pulled out to make space and got retainers. I should have stopped there, but I got braces after that just for one tooth that was still 'off'. I don't think I needed that. But it was such a normal thing to do then, or so I thought.

My teeth are really a bit off but really, things could be much worse. I really do not pay them all much mind. Of course, I am not one to open my mouth wide for long in public. Just the way I have always spoken, I have not really shown my teeth all that much. There was a time where I went to the Dentist a lot but now, I'm as satisfied as I am going to be with my teeth. If people want their teeth fixed then good for them.

I see, but mine was horrible. If yours is decent then that's fine :) Not everyone needs to just it's up to the person. I agree, if people want to then good for them, if not then fine. I don't see why my friends make a point at it when I don't see anything wrong.

My teeth were once unaligned. My front teeth grew pointing alternate directions. My parents sent me to my uncle, an orthodontist. It was free! I wore braces for about two years. And then I used some retainers. Getting my teeth fixed gave me more confidence.
When I was young, I am not taking much because I was so embarrassed of how my teeth looked like. They were like Spongebob's teeth but they are complete. Only the two in front are pointing outward. The long waiting time was worth it. My teeth are better now. I can smile freely without covering my mouth with a handkerchief.

my teeth are not perfect.. they dont look that bad but i will have to fix them soon. I am planning to putting some braces on it to make it look fine. I had an impacted wisdom tooth that needs to be extracted as well. definitely, i have to fix them soon. it will add confidence actually.

I cant afford to get braces on my bottom teeth. When i was younger i did have braces but i got my wisdom teeth and they messed up my bottom teeth and this is a genetic thing as my aunt has this and my mother did but she was able to get hers fixed probably 20 some odd years ago and she doesnt have it anymore and now has perfect teeth.
I have had some dentist procedures to stop my food from getting doen in my teeth and it was just to put a clear coat over the top of the teeth to stop that. It has helped alot and wasnt to much and that was the first of some procedures to get done and i would like to one day have braces again to make my teeth perfect.

No, my teeth are not. My dentist is nagging me to have them into braces but I refused. My thinking is that I was born into these teeth and I have no reason to alter them when they are not damaged or do not need the aesthetics. Also, I am concerned that my teeth might lack some protection when they are touched or altered in some way. It's not cosmetic surgery but I prefer what I have been given and use them as they are. I have not suffered any pain except for the wisdom tooth that was extracted.

My teeth are soo terrible. I actually had dentist appointments all last month to fix a myriad of problems from cavities to removals and manage to miss ALL these appointments because of the holidays. So needless to say, I have to reschedule all of them in fear of one day waking up and having none left. So don't feel bad.

greetings! i had braces before and had them for almost 5 years. it was uncomfortable at first but you'll soon get used to them. after that, i wore retainers for the next 3 years. i feel that my teeth look really good now, hehe. it's worth all the money i spent to get them fixed. if you have the resources, i highly suggest you get them. it will not change who you are, that's for sure, but it will give you the additional confidence to smile anytime and anywhere! :)
