I was cleaning my room the other day when I noticed my old slum book in one of my storage boxes. I immediately opened it and read some entries from my former classmates and acquaintances. It made me remember some fond memories of my earlier years. For those who are not familiar with this, a slum book is basically a book that you give to your friends to fill out and answer some questions - some are profile answers and others are quite personal. This 'slum book' were the rage in my school years. Did own a slum book? I guess Facebook is now the new slum book considering the method, even though it is more updated and interactive than the former.

Yes, when I was still in high school I love to make my friends fill it up. To know who their crushes are and what are there likes and dislikes.

Yes, I had slumbooks before and I still kept it. I asked my mother to buy it for me, even my mother had slumbooks, just imagine the color of the pages hehe. Unforgetable questions and answers in slumbook: -favorite color: ROY G. BIV (all colors, huh!) -hobbies: dancing, singing (there was an acronym, i forgot already haha, ill check tonight) -what is love: love is like a rosary that is full of mystery; love is blind -dedication: JAPAN -just always pray at night -who is your crush: secret -do you favor long engagement? -who is your first kiss: my parents (aw common!) -if you have picture attached: please keep this as a simple remembrance from me (hahaha!) Those were the days, hahahaha

I owned a lot of slumbooks when I was a kid! I enjoyed reading and rereading my friends' answers specially those of my crush. LOL! I wasn't able to save any of them though, which is sad, but I do fondly remember one, which a crush gave to me, it has cartoon characters in front, and he had a dedication on the last page. hahahaha! That was so puppy love!

Yeah, I remember that. I have cute slumbook that my sister gave me. I happen to see it again last year and laughing while reading it. I remember my elementary and high school years, when the signatories have bad english and we had simple dreams. I even write on my own slumbook, and remember my favorites and quotes. There is one slot left and I ask my bf if he can write on it and he said no, he's not the type of guy who will waste time to write on slumbook. But it's ok. Just funny thoughts.

Hey...You are surely not wrong with what you have said. Nowadays facebook is much more attractive, elaborate and an easier way of being in touch with people. But earlier when facebook was not in much use, teens and others used slum book as a way of keeping in touch later on and a way of recollecting the old memories. And I guess even today slum book is in use. I am saying this because I am a student and many of my friends and other schoolmates still use slumbook to keep in touch and sometimes even for fun. And yes I do own a slumbook. And I find it alluring too. Even facebook is really good in its own part. I use facebook and it has many applications which I find really interesting, but yes slumbook is still a part of school going kids. According to me, later on who knows that you no more browse facebook but as you said that you were cleaning your room and found out your childhood slumbook. In the same way afterwards, if few people aren't using facebook, and while sorting out their closet or store room, and they find their slumbook, it will recollect all of ther past memmories all of a sudden. So, exactly what I want to say is that facebook and slumbook, both are great in their own way. Thank you!:)

Definitely a must in every teens life. Slumbook is the subject matter of our breaktime. I remembered buying different kinds of slumbook & bring it as often as possible to our school. The more classmates who signed with it the better & it serves as my contact & reminder that i have lots of friends way back my grade & high school days.

Yes, those slum books were the craze in our high school days. A lot of things about you is in there to reveal. It was a nice way too of saying a piece or two about the owner of the slum book. Yes, nowadays it's counterpart is the Facebook. But still, it's more of a personal touch to have their handwritings on your slum book, don't you think?
