Australia today declared its fifteen member squad for forthcoming I.C.C. Cricket world Cup 2011 to be played in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh due to begin in a months time. Ricky ponting has been selected as Captain of the side. Injured Mike Hussey has also been included in the side. Nathan Hauritz, who went out of favor of Australian selectors for Ashes series and subsequent O.D.I. series, has been included in the world cup squad considering that he is more effective on Indian pitches. Australia will be seeking 4th consecutive world cup title having won it on three previous occasions in '99,'03 and '07. Australia is not the same formidable side it used to be a decade back having been white washed in test series by India in India 2-0 and having beaten convincingly by England in Ashes series 2-1. Australia will have to play formidably beyond their present form to retain the world cup they won on three previous occasions. The squad is Ricky Ponting (captain), Michael Clarke, Doug Bollinger, Brad Haddin, John Hastings, Nathan Hauritz, David Hussey, Mike Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Tim Paine, Steve Smith, Shaun Tait, Shane Watson, Cameron White. What do you feel Australia will be able to play to their old glory to retain the world cup?

Australia has been in its worst of its form in the recent years. If they really want to win the World Cup,they must start to act as a team.Right now,Australia hasn't been able to cope with the loss of its older, famous players-Hayden,Warne,Gilchrist,Symonds,McGrath even though its been quite some time since they quit International cricket. I don't mean that the present players are bad.But its just that they are not able to match the power and strength of the former Australian team, the invincibles. They have the capacity to do it.They just have to believe in themselves.
