I think the best option for you would be to format your hard disk fully and perform a clean install. Make sure you use a reputed Antivirus in the future. I personally use AVG antivirus Free Edition and have never had any virus issues with my PC.

I wouldn't be surprised if you ran a better anti-virus scan and it found several viruses no offence, but AVG isn't a great antivirus program, not even good in my opinion. I've fixed countless machines running it (fully upto date) and its had sometimes 10+ virus, trojans, etc etc which AVG just point blank refused to find. Not trying to be insulting or rude just giving a personal opinion.

Once your computer has been infected with a virus, unfortunately you won't be able to retrieve the files infected. Even if you do, so does the virus itself. What we do if we notice our computer has a spyware or a virus we reformat the hard drive and all of our important files are always backed up. The programs can always be reinstalled but you still need a copy of executable file in a safe place.

I also hate it when it happens. Once a virus had done a substancial amount of damage, I usually don't try to repair it anymore and simply reinstall the whole Windows, together with all the programs. Yes, it's a long and hard process to recover everything, but when many things are already damaged it may even be shorter.
Be sure to always have the antivirus working properly, and all updates to it in place. So it doesn't happens again.

Viruses are really annoying. It can lose your masterpieces if you have some saved in your computer. I am always making an animation using my Personal Computer. It really enjoys the children in our household. If ever those animations were messed up by a virus, the thing I strove to do will be lost.
If your computer was reformatted after removing all the viruses, I think you won't be able to retrieve it again. You can try also the system restore. The system restore is the microsoft's greatest system tool which enables you to restore your saved files, installed softwares and settings from an earlier time.
