Yes, I notice natural disasters happen everywhere in the world nowadays. There are many prediction for the 2012 that made us scared even more. We cannot fight nature, what we can do is pray and be prepared for the worst.
I remember the last time we were scared of year 2000 as it was the turn of the century, but nothing happened at the time, at least not in Indonesia. Then without any warning there was the big tsunami which swept a whole district in North Sumatra and killed millions of people.
The point is we would never know. Just as you wrote here, don't be scared, be prepared.

Welcome back!
Natural disasters are happening everywhere and yes people have fears and doubts about the end of the world which will come soon. But have we ever wondered who or what is causing these disasters to come up? Remember that nature fights back too when it is harmed. So who is to blame for this? It's not because the world will end soon that's why all of these bad things are happening. It is our own wrong doing and we should be correcting this as soon as possible before it's too late.

First, i do hope you plan on coming back to this thread and actually discussing this rather than just plopping the thread out there and forgetting about it.
Ok, with that out of the way, let me get the next point out of the way....2012. It is utter nonsense. Nonsense I might add that many seemingly otherwise educated and intelligent people seem to be believing. The Mayans calender doesn't "end" and it doesn't predict any disaster, let alone something specific as storms and earthquakes, etc. Ask any Mayan alive today.....what? You didn't know there were still plenty of Mayans alive and well in modern times? Well, there are and even they call the hype around their ancient calender nonsense. For example, this guy:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33261483/ns/technology_and_science-science/
" MEXICO CITY — Apolinario Chile Pixtun is tired of being bombarded with frantic questions about the Mayan calendar supposedly "running out" on Dec. 21, 2012. After all, it's not the end of the world.
Or is it?
Definitely not, the Mayan elder insists. "I came back from England last year and, man, they had me fed up with this stuff."
Ok, with this 2012 nonsense put safely back in the sci-fi movies where it belongs, on with the rest of my post.
It isn't that we are experiencing more disasters world wide....it is that we are experiencing more media world wide. the amount of disasters has not really changed, just the amount we hear about. With the advent of the internet and massive 24 hour news channels. We hear about these things almost the same moment they happen, even from some of the most remote places on earth. And of course the news anchors have to play up the drama of it all, that's their job, sensationalism and that often fuels the fires of panic and leads us to believe these things are "unprecedented"
Take the whole issue lately of birds and fish dieing. If we were to go by the way they have been reported, one might be led to believe that these events too are "unprecedented". However, a quick look at past news pieces and reports show that these things happen every year and have been happening right along. they just haven't been dropped in to the hyper media machine in the past as they are now.
So relax, we aren't coming in to the end times any more or less then we were before we knew about all this stuff happening. It is always good to be prepared for a disaster. It's just common sense. FOr example, if one lives in an area prone to hurricanes, it is prudent to be prepared for one and have supplies on hand.
Just live life like you have been and don't worry about it.

I think with all the disaster here and there it's a sign that the world might truly be coming to an end. It's high time we trust in God and believe in Him that all things are possible.

Yes, it is very obvious that it is getting severe and alerting. Even to places we never think of this will happen, it does. Actually I was able to watch the movie 2012. It is really seems realistic and timely for what is happening, not only in environment but even in politics. And this movie made me realized that no matter how much we are prepared, if it God's will, we could never take anything with us, even money or material things. It really scares us seeing how can we survive if that scenario would happen, but it shows the reality of life. No matter how wealthy and powerful people are, how well they prepared would be of no use. But you are right, we have to be prepared, just in case even though we never know what is there ahead of us. The way how we live and spend our life, that's what I think we have to consider to say that we are well prepared.

Well i think it's really horrible to hear that all these things are happening so soon and so fast. If the world will really end one day then we can do nothing to change that fact i guess. We can maybe postpone it to a later date but avoiding it is really hard. I don't think there's much we can do.
By the way we shouldn't complain also. It's we ourselves who had brought this on us. Mother nature is not at all happy with whatever we have got. We have hurt her and shes given us a chance to redeem but we didn't use that well. SO we all have to pay the price.
If the world really is about to end my advice would be to enjoy your life till the fullest and do some small things to make others happy!
Hope you do so...
Cheers!

in y opinion, disasters happen each year, the reason why they come to us alot is that the development of media and the nternet!I mean this transmitter has been spreading the news more quikly and worldwide,so it looks like that disasters happend more often!but anyway,we should take some measures to prevent ot to stop it and we should chrish our life more!anyway, good luck!

I share your sentiment. What's happening right to the whole world is too much. I can only shake my head and pray not only for my fellow Filipinos but for the whole world. It's time we unite in prayers before it's too late.

Well I guessed everything has its proper end. What is happening now is seriously an effect of how we have abused and misused the very freedom God has given us. Climate changes, social misunderstandings, depressions, wars and natural disasters are signs of impending scenes on the last days. I'm not scaring here, but rather reminding ourselves to get healed brought about by our sinfulness. It's never too late.
God is watching.Take care.
