REALITY CHECK! I spend way too much time on the net!

I spend way too much time on the net trying to find ways to make money to help pay bills and buy what we need. I was on the net all day yesterday looking for sites that will pay. I am upset with myself for spending so much time on here. Getting fat and lazy. I get up and do my household chores. My husband is good enough to cook and clean up his mess as he goes but I should be doing this. If I was doing a real job I wouldn't spend all day working for pennies . So how much time do you spend on the net? Are you really making money on the net? Are you tired of spending time on the net and not making much money? I am sick of not making a profit.

I understand your frustration, I think everybody who ever tried to make money online does.
I take advantage of the fact that I'm not too pressured by money problems, so I apply the following strategy: I relax when working online. I post in myLot a reply whenever I need to take a short break from other activities. I blog and post articles whenever I feel like it, about subjects I enjoy, and without spending too much time on them. I know they won't be perfect; I also know I'm no writer, and I don't care. Of course I wouldn't work for an employer for the pennies per hour I make online... but I don't have any deadlines, no boss to check the quality of my work, no standards and procedures, no pressure to stay with a site until my contract expires, no office - nothing. So, all in all, it's worth it, I spend on the whole about 3 hours/day doing this, but without any stress... if I can't, or I don't feel like logging in for two weeks in a row, so be it.

Hi NoWayRo and welcome to my lot. I am always looking for sites that pay so I can help during the winter months. I am on here during the warmer months but only a little bit of time. That is when I have work to do outside and don't have time to spend on here. Where do you write articles for? Thanks for sharing.

Hi NoWayRo. Think I will look at those sites. But I found sites that are free to join. No refferral links just sites that have real jobs like data entry and stuff like that. I need to find something to help pay the bills and buy what we need. I have tried all kinds of writing sites that have proven not to really pay good enough for me to waste my time on. Is that site you was talking about still free?

No, Elance is no longer free, it requires a minimum fee of 10 dollars/month. For me, it's well worth it, but that's why I wouldn't recommend it to a newcomer.
But there are other such platforms out there; I've only worked on Amazon's Mechanical Turk myself, which has mostly microjobs (check to see if you can get paid, they pay cash in few countries, and with gift cards for everybody else).
I've heard that Get A Freelancer was good a few years back, not sure how it's doing these days; I've also heard people talking about ifreelancer, allfreelancework, gofreelance, freelancer.com... there are many such sites, I have no idea how good they are. They only provide the platform to broker the contract between the employer and the freelancer, and most of them have sections for data entry jobs as well, if that's what you're looking for.
Wish you the best of luck, I'm sure you'll find something that suits you in the end.

Well, I am only online when I am at work.., meaning I am using my work unlimited connection to check personal emails, responding discussions on myLot and downloading songs. So, I spent roughly 8-9 hours online everyday. Since I don;t personally spend money on internet connection, any amounts coming from myLot is a bonus for me.

Hi Jennyze. That is a good thing. I spent the whole day the other day online and got 2.00 bucks. Now that is really too long to only get a couple of bucks. I do have to pay for my internet connection and it isn't cheap these days. Glad you can get some kind of bonus out of it. Good luck!

I'm spending a reasonable amount of time on the net, I guess. Although during my product training on a company lately, the company isn't that great. I'm not getting the respect and treatment I deserve so I just pull out my phone and start surfing the net to ignore completely what's happening there, in turn giving me additional surfing time. It helps though so I'm not really regretful.

You don't have to take that from people that you work with you got rights. If they don't treat you with the respect you deserve tell Better bussiness bureau it gives the company a bad name. Good luck on what ever you decided to do. Me I will try the links I have and see if I can find me a job online that way I don't have to put up with the bs from the office.

I spend most of my time on the Internet. I have a stable job, but I still go online and look for online work, sometimes even during office hours. Like right now. I'm at the office and I'm also mylotting and doing a data entry job at the same time.
When I get home, I check my facebook and download stuff. Sometimes I do a few online jobs.
I like going on line and doing a few jobs. Though I'm not pressured to do so because I have a stable job and I live with my parents. Most of my online earnings are spent for online shopping.

Me too, I am studying how one can actually make a living just by browsing and commenting on the net. Actually I have a small computation here. For example here in my lot, an average comment can be done in a minute, depends upon how fast and how witty you are in commenting. Anyway considering that i have 5 hours after my regular work of 8 hours allocated to this sideline then I can do 300 comments. Thats $3 a day, $15 a week(5 days computation), and $60 dollars a month. Now the dolloar to peso rate is 45php / $1, roughly I will have php2700 in a month. So that means I must find another means because I need at least Php10,000(approximately $223) a month to support my family. Question is how to spend that daily 5hours in a more logical and profitable way.

Same hereee.I spend way too much time on the internet!Several hours a day or more. And when I am home all day in weekends,I would say I spend probably 8 hours a day online.
I feel like there is just so much to do and see and I get lost in it.I also think,
it is generally better than just sitting and watching TV so I don't feel too guilty about it.

I only do this during the cooler months out of the year. During the warmer months I am outside working and doing what I love to do. But what the heck when it is cold outside there is not much else to do.
Hi Cityboy4u and welcome to my lot. I want to know what you can tell me about earning online. I will add you as my friend.

I've been working on line for about two years now. My son was in an accident so I had to figure out how to generate some income. I could not leave him alone so I had to find something online. I am finding more all the time.. you just have to be patient.

Hi! I spend too much on the net when I get home from work, either on social networking (not the fb kind of thing) and games that I fail to do the work I bring home. At the back of my mind is the nagging feeling that I should work instead but I continue with mylot nevertheless.
I have heard and knew of students who bought their first cellphones and laptop thru social networking and one who earned Php 10,000. But they are bloggers...had been for quite a while before they got their earnings.
I have a blogpage made for me by a friend and remains empty until now. Still gathering the courage to start a topic.

Hi Figurativeme. I wouldn't want to work after a hard days work either don't blame you. I don't work much during the winter months so I spend my time on the net looking for a real job. Think I found one. Not just a few cents here and there. I need to make real money to help pay the bills and buy what we need. Wish me luck. Good luck to you too.

I spend a few hours per day, lately I have had more time because school is currently out and won't begin until the 1st of next month, so I am getting a bit of a break, so I have more time in my hands. During working hours, I'll log on for a minute just to check my e-mails, including during lunch and during the evening hours is where I spend most of my time chatting through mylot and other sites I found to be very valuable.
