How do I cut another $70 from my monthly budget?

With the expiration of the bush era tax cuts, and the tax hike that my state just imposed, we are taking home $70 less a month. I am not sure how I am going to adjust my budget to accomodate for that. I cannot lower my mortgage or home equity loan. I cannot lower my insurance premiums, or my child care costs. We are already on a very lean budget.
I guess I will just have to push for $70 in extra income every month. Don't know where that income is going to come from, but I cannot cut anymore from my budget.

I think that you may not have done your best yet because I believe you can still cut more. When it comes to electricity, gas, water bills, what you need to do is to bring their last bill and you need to think what you have used to incur this bill amount and think something that you can reduce. Also if you have a car, try to use car on lesser frequency, meaning that if not required then don't drive it out. If you try to use car on lesser frequency, try to refill your car for half tank full that means you will save more. If you are travelling to work and where public transport access is available then use public transport because it is always cheaper than taking a car. You'll need to sit down and think carefully on what you can do to reduce your expenses. Good luck.

How about your food, dear? I mean, do not buy junk food first, buy those that are necessary and also do not go for the branded ones. There are local food for sure that have the same quality as the branded ones.
Limit your dining out or other R and R activities. You can also lower your utility bills (electric, water, etc).
Are you paying for appliances in an installment basis? If so, try to assess if you really need them like do you really need a new tv, new dvd player or the likes. If not, return them to the seller. This will help you save a lot.
Make a clear assessment of what else can you do to save. Budget everything, from food to toiletries.
i HOPE YOU CAN FIND SOLUTIONS TO YOUR PROBLEM SOON.

You've already got several really good suggestions and switching vehicles sounds like it will drop out a chunk! That's pretty good work already! My daughter and I are exploring ways to cut expenses too. We are all living in pretty tight circumstances. We are learning to make some of our own stuff. She makes her own laundry soap and it ends up only costing about a penny a load. I make my own tortillas and muffins. I also gave up my sports drinks to save a little on my grocery budget. I opt for cheaper snacks and buy less overall. I buy the items that will last me longer and offer more servings for the money.

I am not an expert in budgeting either, but whenever I need to do some saving or cutting of budget, I'd usually slap it against food budget as it is better to take it slow in the eating department. Another way in which you can make both ends meet is to have some extra work monthly that will bring in $70 to $100 per month.

That's what I've had to do.
My rent is dirt cheap because I live in HUD, but I usually make only $300-$400 per month. Unfortunately, I have food stamps to help foot my food bill.. which is good because my illness doesn't allow me to eat most foods.
My income is earned from online ventures like Mylot, so it's not guaranteed in any way. My rent comes to $125/mo and my cable internet is $44 (I can't get a phone line and even if I did.. $20 for phone line $15 for dial up.. yeah..). Another $25-$30 for my medications each month. The rest goes to necessities.
I get my phone service through Skype, $3/mo. We haven't had a regular phone since October 2010 nor cable/sat television since July 2010. Anything that is on the tv is a movie that was bought from the store or we watch stuff online and from the library.
It sucks, but that's just the way it has to be for now.

Wow!That's a good deal for a phone.
Medications, even if you only have to pay co-pays can sure eat a lot of $ up.

One thing you can is not buy name brand things even on food get the store brand food, it tastes just as good and isnt as much money and if you have a name brand product you do like try looking on there website for promotional items and they might have a coupon to print out and those coupons come in handy at times. Another thing you can probably cut down is your electric bill and a good way of doing this is making sure your lights are always off when your not in the room, If you have five lights in a room or four ligtht bubls un screw two of them and you will see that you only need to have two anyways and that helps, turn off tvs everytime you are not watching it, try hanging up clothes to not use the dryer so much, if its cold were you are trying using heating pads to stgay warm instead of using all the heat right now.
Cut your grocery bill in half by not spending so much on dryer sheets if you use them, you can cut them in half and only use half a dryer sheet, dont use so much laundry detergent everytime you do a load of laundry, try not having left overs at dinner that you might not use ever only cook the amount you need. Save your money dont throw it down the drain anymore.

Life is hard. Figure out your budget and see if you can make room for more. Maybe you can cut down on extra expenses you may have. That should lower your expenses some more.

I feel bad for you. I know my husband and I are struggling ourselves. I have not been able to find work at all and it has been hard living on one part-time income. I ma sorry that your state has hiked up taxes. In the state of Idaho, the state s cutting 700 teaching jobs (and that is what I have my degree in). I make very little money online and have been trying to make more money. My sister-in-law keep saying that I am money hungry and greedy and that is why I want to make money and I told her try living on one part-time income when you have bills to pay. She then had the nerve to tell my husband and I that we would have money if we did not spend it on bills. I told her that the only bills we have are the mortgage, power bill, city bill, the phone bill and the Internet and all of these things are necessary and bills that everyone has to pay. She then told me to get rid of the Internet and I told her I am a full-time graduate student and I am doing the program online so I cannot get rid of the Internet. It made me so mad that she had struck her nose where it did not belong.

I decided to become a consultant for a company called PartyLite that sells candles and other scented products, along with room decor stuff. I just started, and my first show is in two weeks. I hope that I can make a few hundred a month and offset all of the stupid expenses that keep creeping up.
My hubby and I did sit down and cut another $50 from the budget by switching to cheaper brands of some items, and making sure to use coupons. Our biggest change is going from a gas guzzling suv to a hybrid prius. He is filling up less often and the gas tank is half the size. This is a very good thing because gas prices just jumped up to $3.65 a gallon....heart attack level.
As for teaching, I know how hard that can be. I am trained as a teacher have my certificate and everything and all I can find is a teacher's aid position.
