Are you offended when the joke is on you?

Yes, I do mind when people making a joke on me which aiming to undermine. Only I can make a joke on myself which pointing at my own stupidity. Some people do not know the limit of their jokes, and it hurts, cause I would not do that to others.

There are different types of jokes. Some are offensive, great punchlines but mostly are negative humors. I must admit I do negative humors, but I select whom to joke. And if they joke me back, I don't get mad unless it's below the belt joke. I would certainly smile as well. Just making it fair for both sides.

I am also a person who love to make jokes. But certainly, I choose the right type of jokes. Something that is not hurting. There are type of jokes that often hurt other people. I do not make other people laugh at the expense of hurting another. Perhaps in my case, there are jokes that I can accept but there are also limits to such jokes. I mean, the type of joke that they do. Its nice to laugh, have fun for as long as you do not hurt anyone along the way.

I believe jokes are there to keep us from being too serious and overly critical of ourselves. This is especially true in the case of jokes that involve yourself.

well, i actually never care what people talks about me or what jokes they make out of me until they do it right on my face. Even if they did i'd laugh it off till some extent. But if i get offended and i hit back on the joke, with my joke,i do it the real hard way that The person never jokes about me again.because im great with sarcastic jokes. :D

I can so relate with what you have gone through. I am okay with me making a joke about a situation I was in and laugh about it. But if someone repeats that situation as a joke and made me look I was an idiot, I'd be offended indeed.

Hello Simplyd, Normally i would not mind if a good friend of mine was joking about me. I sometimes do invite them myself. Yes, but when comes to undermining me, i would simply laugh but then i would counter attack and try to reply in return, of course in a funny way. Now it is balanced. It's no harm to do it, unless you are doing that to someone you don't know well. I don't want such people to joke about me, either. Only my close friends get the privilege to joke about me. Yes, i love the silly jokes.

It's not so funny when the joke is on me. It is easy to become offended by this. It is so much easier to take the joke when it is on someone else.

My officemates loved me because I am not offended by their jokes. I told them an open minded person. As long as the joke is not below the belt, like including my parents or family and its not degrading, I realy don't mind. If I'm the one saying a joke, I would be sensitive with others feelings especially if that person is not that close to me ;)

hi ..well,I don't mind at all..I make jokes around..but I try to make my jokes clean..so no one would get hurt or offended..I guess its normal to feel bad sometimes especially if the joke is below the belt like making fun of yourself.. great day!

I feel the same too. I like to joke. If people make fun of me, I do not mind. I am open to others only good joke.
