I had a few lbs I would like to shed for the summer. I had seen all the celebrities losing weight with these big name weight loss programs and resent ed the fact that they were so expensive.
I stumbled upon a free weight watchers type program in a spreadsheet. I have been using it for a little over two weeks and have lost 10lbs already!
I wanted to share it with everyone so you can lose weight if you want to for free. I included a link to the free program in my profile. I have also written a short article on how it works.
If your interested in losing weight (it's that time of year) and want to do it for free check it out!
Also, if your new years resolution was to lose weight, how are you doing it?

Hello,
Its very kind of you to share the link with everyone. My wife and I personally eat salad for lunch and TRY to run/walk 3 times a week. It was working very well till last September and we both lost good amount of weight. But then it was time for Thanksgiving and Holidays and it all went down hill lol.
We are planning to get back in that. We can't really walk/run outside as it is freezing here but we'll be back on track soon enough.
Eating healthy and doing some excercise is good way to lose weight. And it saves money :-)

You are right. Those are the only things you need to lose weight. Although, I find myself having a hard time refusing certain foods on my own. It's easier I find when I'm tracking what I'm eating.
This has also helped me realize the foods I thought were good for me and not that fattening really are. This program forces you to read the label of everything you eat. It really opened my eyes.

My wife drives me crazy with thos labels lol. She works for Department of Health and she reads labels on everything. I'm more of eating whatever I like kinda guy. I do like to eat and sometimes I just eat whatever but she as always tries hard so we can eat healthy not only to lose weight but also so we can be healthier.
But yes looking at those labels does help you. You can keep track of all the things you had in the day and stay in control. (Though its hard at times) :-)
Have a nice day

I know the feeling. Only last year I was at a decent weight, and I've plumped up a bit. Oh well, I'll get it off soon enough :)
And I'm sure you will too. You should give the program a try!

The thing is,I am not really that fat so I do not have any problems with what I eat. But my main concern is that I usually eat a lot of unhealthy foods. I usually indulge in junk foods and softdrinks. Perhaps this is something that I should control. I will check out your profile nevertheless since it might be useful for those who wanted to lose weight. Thanks for sharing this input.

Congrats on the weight loss and thanks for sharing!
I lost 20 lbs about two years ago, and then I got pregnant so I tried to eat healthy for the baby but of course not "diet." I did lose the baby weight plus almost another ten lbs, so I am 30 lbs down from two years ago, but I have at least another 30-40 to go. I have noticed since I was pregnant a few weight-related health problems that I never had before, even though I have always been heavy (athletic heavy: I love my sports!) so it's time to get serious. I'm too young to be tired all the time!

Well Rebeca,
At least you have an excuse. My weight can only stem from my love of food, and lack of exercise. Congrats on your baby!
The program works well. You also get extra *eating points* depending on how much exercise you do that day, so it's an incentive to get back into your sports!

Hi! I don't really want to loose weight but my goal is to loose some unwanted fats to areas in my arms. I think i already am thin because i started my goal of loosing pounds after giving birth to my daughter. It is really good to start eating early before you regret it & worst when you feel something in your body. Just think of better ways to live each day with a healthy food and lifestyle & it will help in your long time goals. Loosing desired weight is easy said and done if we are aware of its benefits. Happy day to you. Happy healthy eating.

Thank you Money,
For some people, it is not easy to lose weight even if they are aware of the benefits. For some people food becomes an addiction that is hard to break.
And on the other hand, like me, I can't get out to a gym regularly because I am the main care taker of my step daughter who is a very "difficult" child who has yet to be diagnosed with anything. So, I tend to have to keep myself in the back seat of my life most days.
But this program is easy to follow. Especially for those who can't do it on their own or get to the gym. It was a real help for me and I am hoping everyone else finds it useful.

Yes I am now eating right. But not to lose some wait but to gain some. I am quite skinny. My Mom was always teasing me "Skin and Bones". I am losing some self esteem when we were playing basketball or any games during our Physical Education class. I thin long arm is a disgrace. Started eating twice or thrice what I am eating normally last summer. But there were no changes. I am still skinny. I found out that it is impossible or difficult for me to gain some fats and weight because I have a fast metabolism. My stomach and intestines digests every food that i eat quickly. That is why I am not gaining weight.

Blacksun,
That's unfortunate. I have friends like you.
It is just as hard for you to gain weight as it is for some people to lose weight. It's all in the bodies chemistry. I swear, if I even so much as look at a chocolate bar, I gain a pound! This program is helping me make better choices. Maybe I can't have a chocolate bar... but I can have 1/3 of a chocolate bar.
I think they are ways to promote weight gain. I think with people with fast metabolisms its something like doing more muscle defining exercises and do be drinking those protein shakes that build more muscles. Of course, talking to a nutritionist is a better option than taking my advice!
I hope things go well for you. Try drinking heavy cream instead of milk!

wow! that's a lot of lbs lost for a short time!.. I'm trying to lose weight, though it's not considerably much.. I wanted to lose around 7 pounds, plus do some firming specially with my arms and my tummy. I think I'm doing great, although I haven't checked my current weight yet, but I feel that I'm slowly losing some pounds.
I've been trying to eat healthy, and lessen my intake of carbs (rice!).. maybe starting next month, i'll get serious about exercising to finally lose the bulging tummy and the huge arms. LOL.

Thank you very much!! I need to lose some weight by summer. Right now, I am just eating better, but I haven't had much luck. Two pounds in 2 weeks. Could be better but it's something.
