Hi
I am looking for a fast and effective way to transfer files from a remote desktop that I am working on, to the laptop that I am working on.
I have tried to map the drives through the RDC options and this has transferred the files, but at 8 hours for a 1gb file it is very slow.
The RDC has a 100meg connection and my laptop has an 8meg connection. So this sort of speed was not expected.
Can I ftp between the two of them?
Any help please.
Thanks

well.. it's via LAN or Net? hmm.. FTP is one of the best solution to transfer files.. you can install Filezilla server on one machine and can transfer using client.. in LAN you can directly share folders.. but on Net you can use Teamviewer software.. it's free for personal use.. and effective too..

You know what. The fastest WAN links are many times slower than the slower LAN.So if you're really looking for a fast file transfer, then you should use LAN connections.

Is there any way to connect through lan?
other wise try skype and a high speed internet. It's good one for transferring files.
don't have any idea it can help you or not. :(
