don't you people think that computers, especially internet is very harmful when teenagers are left alone with it. Their age of adolescence can compel them to hit the magic words and to see what they are not supposed to.. the might even get wrong ideas about the things which they don't know about. is it safe for them to browse internet without any supervision?? what do you people think? are you scared for your kids for the same reason??

nops.. it's not about too worry.. what I think is.. he/she should know everything about net.. though we have to observe surfing details using any software or history.. if one found to surf wrong sites alot.. explain him technical disadvantage of all those.. I don't scare much about this.. I make things happen then stop..

Internet can help our children to grow faster and better if they don't abuse their freedom in using it.
From my observation, my children get a lot of free information via the internet in helping them to do the school project.
To prevent my children to be trapped in those bad effects of internet, I shall keep watching, discussing and reminding them.
As such, my children can be more independent and mature in their growing stage.

It is scary. You definitely need to teach your kids the dangers of it and to keep an eye on them. Keeping an eye on them a lone isn't good enough because kids can be sneaky.

(I'm 22, I'm not married)...but my perspective about whether we should or should not let kids use internet.
Internet has become so huge that we have everything we need there, and about your concern over kids watching some explicit pages is obvious. I don't know whether supervision is a ultimate solution but the best way to let kids use internet is keeping computer fixed with internet connection within the same room. Like Living room or kitchen. Keeping your computer in the living room and letting them use it, in such case we don't need any supervision or warn about the bad influences one can fall.
However, letting kids know about the negatives effect of the internet is highly advisable.

I am not scared, there is not parent control and i can block sites and only let them use trustable ones :)

It can be a worry but i have parental tracking and blocking on my pc so i can check where they have been going online and block inapproprite things.
