When The Left Hand Doesn't Know What The Right Hand Is Doing!=^..^=

Last night I was told by two different staff members to prepare my apartment for the spraying of cockroaches and was specifically told that I had to empty everything of my cupboards! Ugh! Well, this was a job I couldn't do alone. I needed company if only to just sit and chat with me while I was doing it. Thankfully, William was able and willing to be my company. I put everything on the table, stove and kitchen counter. The dishes I covered with a couple of sheets so Mija wouldn't sniff and snoop around them. All the boxed food items I wasn't that worried about. All of the cleaning solutions I tied up in plastic bags so Mija wouldn't do her famous snoop and sniff act! LOL!
Okay, now, listen to this....... Are you ready? Today at 11 am my doorbell rang and the guy told me that he was going to spray and I had to leave the apartment for 4 hours. You should have seen the look on my face! I told him that is impossible because I have a cat and we have nowhere to go for 4 hours. As it was I told him that he had just woken me up and I wasn't even prepared for this. Nobody on staff told me this at all! Can you believe that? On top of that he also told me it wasn't necessary that I cleaned my cupboards out!!!! Arrggghhhh!!!! I was getting angrier and angrier with the staff! Let me tell you!!
He told me that he would have to just put me down as refusing service and I told him that I'm not angry with him at all and don't blame him for anything, it's just that the staff never told me anything and as a result I have nowhere to go with Mija with her food, water and litterbox. I asked if we could reschedule and he said sure, he'll just talk with staff about it and he walked away. I'm still standing at the door dumbfounded at all the work I had done the night before for naught and having to reschedule and do it all over again?!?!? This was insane and I was ready to call staff and give them an earful myself!!
A second later Bobby (the bug spray guy) came back to my door (while I was still standing there half numb with amazement! LOL!) and he told me,
"You know, I can still come in and put the poison in the hinges of the cupboards (where Mija can't get at it) and I'll just put your apartment down as having been sprayed. That way my boss won't yell at me, management here won't get upset with you and everyone's happy."
At that point I wanted to ask for his hand in marriage! LOL! After he put the poison in the hinges of the cupboards he filled out the form that says the place has been sprayed and will be vacated for 4 hours and put that on my doorknob. I was so ecstatic about this that I asked him if I could hug him and of course, how could he refuse! LOL! He even asked me for ANOTHER hug!
After he put that on my doorknob he left and I went back to bed profusely thanking God for this minor miracle! I just love peope who are compliant and willing to compromise a bit here and there. Don't you?
Well, 4 hours later I got a call from management asking how things went and I said....fine...... She also said that she would be doing a followup in two weeks to see if I need another treatment or not.
The kind of poison that he used is like food that is carried back to the nest and should kill them off.
If it doesn't work and I have to do it again I will know that I DON'T have to empty my cabinets AND I will be prepared to go over a friends apartment for 4 hours WITH Mija and her food, water and litter box.
Lupita came over today and she helped me put all the stuff back into the cupboards
In a way, it was a good thing that I did all that as part of Spring cleaning. Yes, you CAN do Spring cleaning in the winter! LOL! That part made me feel good, but, at the same time, the cleaning the shelving really made the small of my back ache. My back's alright today, but, last night I thought I was going to faint. I'm just proud that I had the fortitude to stick to it last night. I still have 1 small cupboard to clean out and a larger one that I forgot to do last night.
Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I know what you mean!
I've had to find places for the cats in the past and that's a PITA!
I've even bug bombed the house and can you imagine trying to put 30 inside ONLY cats some place?
We ran them out onto the cat porch, and put a couple on the spa porch that didn't get along with the rest and went to a movie!
WHAT a night mare!
And then, getting some of those cats off the spa porch back into the house! OMG! Not like I can lift the spa to get to them behind it!
Now, you don't hear me talking about my hot tub, because I need to get it cleaned so I can use it again - but soon...!

I remember living in apartments that were regularly sprayed and it really IS a pain in the patooty! And the smell--ewww! With Mija you probably never see any bugs if they are there, cats are great bug-controllers. That bait he put down is the most effective way to control those awful things--spraying just kills what's there and then you have to wait for the eggs to hatch for the poison to be distributed.

Hello dragon! Wow! I haven't heard the word patooty in ages! It made me laugh to see it being used again!
Actually, all Mija does is pounce on them and play with them. She doesn't actually kill them! She is so funny to watch.
Thanks for responding and have a great day!

Wow! Talk about the hassle! Haha! If that happened to me I would have ripped the ears out of the staff and complained to management! I wouldn't mind being the "bad guy". Haha.
It's a good think everything still worked out. You have more time to rest since the weekend's coming up! Finish up on your "spring cleaning"
