Hi Everyone! How do you handle those people especially colleague who thinks they're better and smarter than others? For me, I won't handle them. I'll smile but I won't say much to those wannabes in the office. I believe people who have excellent qualities in them are very down to earth, always have a smile on their face, out-going and humble. They are achievers. So, to those who like to pretend they know better than others, thinking they are smarter than others, plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....nobody will notice you in such an attitude you carry! In fact, it's very annoying! Want people to like you??? Stay humble and smile!

By ignoring them, except for work stuff. They will wonder why we are not affected by their superiority and will try to flash more in front of us. But the more they boast the more I ignore them. At the end, they will respect you, too.

hi jennyze, Thanks for your reply. I have to say, annoying people like them just turn me OFF. I have seen too many people like that in this working environment. Sometimes, I just feel like wanting to PUKE. If that person really good with their work, don't need to show off like that. Someone high above (GOD) will know. No need to show to anyone. Thanks!

I know the feeling. It's worth to sometimes look down on them they way they look down on others.

I just let them indulge themselves. Eventually they are going to be put in a situation where they are going to get exposed for who they are. Give an idiot enough rope and eventually they'll find a way to hang themselves. They think that they know it all. All they know about to me is running their mouths and making them seem really important. Any attempts to shut them down will just be giving them the attention that they desire in many ways. That means that they have gotten a bit of a rise out of you and that is what they want. No one likes them and yet they keep carrying on. Because they want attention and who needs to be liked for that. I think that is in fact very annoying but there are a lot of people like that. Eventually they'll be exposed as the frauds they are.

hi megamatt, I like the way you said, "giving them rope to hang themself". Its witted yet a smart way to do. I know there are many people out there with this attitude at work. They only have time to show themself they're greater than the rest. Didnt they know they're putting other people's down? Don't they think this is some kind of humiliation to another colleague? Now I know why there are many politics in the working places.

We can't do anything about it. there are really people that act like that. as for me, i just ignore them or play along with them, like "oh really? that's nice. you're lucky". i think those kind of people are the types that needed attention that's why they show off.

Do they know they are showing off? Could it be just their way of sharing their intelligence. Did they talk people down? The other thing you could do is to bring the person aside (if you are close to the person) and feedback to him. If he ignore you, then you should do as you said, ignore them. But if the person treasures your feedback, you might be bringing him back from hell. Everyone, especially him/her, will love you for it.

Walk away or just smile all the way. But inside my head, I see myself slapping them as hard as I can!
