There is this one time when i made a repair to a netbook of a friend. When I installed Windows 7 (for the first time ever), I noticed that the OS already comes with Microsoft Security Essentials. But I am not contented with this, so I have to install another antivirus/firewall software to it. I also included Wormblaster and USB Disk Security to ensure that the unit will be safe from any threat that usually comes from USB devices...
The unit has a total of 4 antivirus programs running simultaneously despite the fact that some antivirus will cause the systems to slow down.
Is it actually possible to put in that much or more antivirus software in one unit?
Are there any side effects?
Good day myloters...

4 anti-viruses ?? That is way too much, and they would slow down the computer too much because they are running parallel. There could be scan conflicts, sometimes when a virus is detected, it will be detected multiple times with those many anti-virus programs. It is eventually going to slow down the computer too much. I have always thought keeping even two programs will keep the computer in more stress but you have put 4. I don't think that is ever going to be necessary to run those many anti-virus programs so just keep the best one and remove the other. I want to see how slow the computer gets when two anti-virus programs are auto scanning the computer together at the same time.

actually... Comodo internet security is my primary antivirus, the other two antivirus, namely wormblaster and usb disk security, are like sidearms, so they do not conflict with the main antivirus and doesnt actually slow the system down...

i don't think you need more than one antivirus to run in your pc
but for sure put another one or two without running because you will need them if the main antivirus stopped running or not able to fix it
about put them in one unit its okay but try not to run more than one
good luck

you can install hundred or even thousands of antivirus in your system because it works like regular software.
However one good antivirus is better that thousands of antivirus installed.
Never install more than 2 antivirus program in one system.
you will use your computer to work, right. not to running all of those antivirus

I think installing more than 1 can be a good idea in order to keep your pc protected from virus and trojans. but sometimes there would be problems due to this. Sometimes antivirus programs conflicts with another one. So, we tend to just installing one instead.

as what ive heard that we cannot run more than one antivirus software in one pc, because all of them will not work properly. it should only one antivirus software. you have to install the one that it works good for you.

Well you can install as many antivirus as you want in your system and run them simultaneously but all it would do is make your pc very very slow many software would have issues like for example if you try to installed kaspersky and avast is already installed them it would warn you about avast and tell you to uninstall it to proceed so you are force to remove those
but i would just recommend you one antivirus software and one firewall both would be always running like use avast and zone free firewall your pc would be safe
also your can install malware byte which runs only when we want and there are few other sypware and malware software which you can install with no harm just make sure you stop the other one when starting these one

Depending on the software exactly, they could conflict with each other turning each others real time protection off completely however it still runs, just not the real time protection.
But i've seen machines with 2 and 3 and that was way too much also, the machines go a snails pace once you keep loading more and more on.
To me all you need is a Anti-virus/security suite you're happy with some decent malware protection such as malbytes and maybe some extra tools safely tucked away into a folder for later usage such as removal tools for any rogue or virus programs you are worried about getting.
As for the wormblaster though, you are aware that was fixed with windows updates? It got in a certain way and now thats all been patched up so I would say you don't need that.

You can install up to three antivirus if one of those have limitation.
For example, You have an antivirus which cannot protect you from malware. Then you should install another which can block malwares.
I currently running two antiviruses. One is Avast! and the other is Malwarebytes. My computer still works fine and fast for 9 months already.
Having more than one antivirus is also an option if you are just going to use a free antivirus software.
