These days you can buy very cheap watches or very expensive watches. In the Western culture, people only start thinking "Expensive" if it cost over $200. On average, people earn $30 a hour. So $30 is peanuts. In Australia, people are paying $300 or $400 a WEEK in rent alone!

Expensive is when it cost more then you are willing to pay. Cheap is when you are willing to pay alot for it but only have to pay less then what you are willing to pay. It all depends on what kind of watch you want.

Hi salam1, one of my nieces lives in US. According to her current economic situation it's still affordable for her to purchase a watch for 30 us dollar. It's around a hundred local ringgit(dollar) here approximately. for her watch that is practical in her daily life is below $70 in US. She is not the type of person who pursues for branded stuffs as well as watches which are expensive in prices. She needs things which are practical and durable. You can buy cheap watches here for about $5-$10.....some even less if you want to get REAL cheap. You can buy expensive watches like Rolex for $5,000 - $100,000+. So $30, $50, or $100 would be a fair price for a good quality watch. Not really cheap but definitely not expensive either. Here in Canada, a thirty dollar watch is not expensive. You can get cheap watches at the dollar store though. Average cost around $20-100 Expensive is $100 - 300 Out of their minds is $300+
