So the cheats loose and so do the honest members

Okay I frequent Sidetick daily for which I have/am very happy with the site. So apparently they have detected some cheats =(
So punish all members because cheats don't know how to behave? The site has NOT, gone scam, so before anyone gets all hyped and concentrated on that, this is not what this discussion is about!!
My question(s): Is it okay that absolutely everyone get punished, because cheaters can't behave?
How fair to honest hardworking people is that?
Give me your reasons why you think it is okay for all honest members to pay for cheaters mischief?? Also give me a reason why I should remain a loyal member when the changes are not forewarned and occur instantly?

Apparently they have detected members using bots and so in effort not to loose any more money, no one gets ticks for viewing albums, pages, polls and or blogs. Which is the reason why we are up there.
Not to mention the loads of wonder friends we have made.
So now we will only be able to answer Jenny's blog and that's it so for 50 cents a day, not sure I myself would invest any time there, especially when I have been an honest member from day one an now made to feel like because of cheaters we honest members get punished.
This is the second round since my day one membership that they do not warn and instill changes asap overnight with no warning. Why would I want to continue when not sure they are going to continue stable?
In all honesty I think they are having money issues as I always got paid on time every time. 2 weeks ago we get a notice saying because of weather payment department has been closed.. hmmm sound fishy!

Thanks for opening this topic about Sidetick. Acually, I was planning to try the site as I heard good news about it. Now I come to know there such unjust disciplinary action, I might postpone the joining. That's totally unfair, there are ways to punish the culprits without compromising the honest members.

I completely enjoy the social interacting with the members but unfortunately the credibility is kind of scary. So I would wait if I were you as sometimes we as hardworking online earners need to take a back at first signs.
Good luck to you though with all else you do.

hi cheaters never win and winners never lose so somewhere in this mess the punishment they doled out to people who didnot deserve it is going to come around and bite them in their butts. I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around.
I was fired only because I was nearly eight and the branch manager said as much without realizing she was saying it. the second in command was a very skinmy lady of maybe 30 and worked on E nmily my boss with this, "if you do not fire hatley that old lady I am guitting" so Emily caved in. well two months after this happened library headwuarter reviewed my case and told both women they had abused the firing rights and since they only gave the reason as age and yet said ,,my work was more than satisfactory. you are both fired. You cannot fire someone solely because of ageism.well all and good I was asked to come back. too late I had had a bad fall, broken my shoulder really badly and
wo uld never again be able to even lift my left arm. so how was I to shelve books. I wrote to them and thanked them and explained if they wished me to come back and work as a clerk I now knew computers but in order to do that I had to go through a lot of paperwork and be interviewed and I just decided to stay retired.

What an amazing woman you are Ms. Hately! Such an inspiring person on daily basis. Shows that we must always respect the higher experienced as they have lived and learn.
So we too shall live and learn. On the flip side we can certainly find a great site like myLot to always rely on and find wonderful members to interact daily.
Good for you that you decided to stay retire, as God only knows what else others in retaliation would come back later with. Quite a great example you are.

That's awful! I had no idea that this had happened until I read your post (mylot was my first stop today). I actually just signed up for Sidetick and so far I was really pleased at how easy it was to earn the points but now if the only way to get points is via the daily Jenny blog post I don't know how much longer I'll stick around on there. I suppose with just that blog post I can eventually make it up to the minimum payout amount but definitely not in the same amount of time I was hoping for. This is pretty disappointing that just because some people use bots to cheat that the site would make all of us pay for that mistake. They should just ban those people and delete their accounts and not pay them - it's in the terms of service after all! I don't think it says anywhere in the terms that if you cheat everyone has to pay for it.

Oh no they should show up instantly after posting then go to another page such as the email again to delete it. Once that opens you should be instantly credited.
I am awaiting a couple payments before I decide as this is the second change and seriously they are not going to allow us to simply answer the blog daily for the 1000 points, and leave in a couple minutes as this will not generate them revenue in any way.
But who knows this is the second drastic change, more still to come, I think.

This is the second time an abrupt change has occurred and the first time they lost a great deal of members, and shortly after put things back to the way they were.
Granted it is a great social networking site, but unfortunately from the sounds of things many will not stay. I suppose the site will recover but my point is how many times do you paddle an honest members behind for others mistakes, and how many times does the honest member stand to take it.
Stick around there for a bit and maybe things will go back to how they were, but always visit, the Jenny blog, not just the daily tickbuck blog as they do not communicate directly, they simply post an entry there and expect members to know information. Unfortunately a great deal of damage occurs by then.

I don't think that's fair and the cheaters may even get a charge out of it--it could inspire them to break the rules again!
Of course, it's their site so their rules. If their membership drops and keeps dropping due to that policy they may change it!

Well I read no mention of members being banned so how fair to leave them there to further find ways to cheat, while the honest ones not get the opportunity to continue to earn.
I can't begin to tell you how many members are up there removing all their profiles and albums as I don't blame them. Whey should honest members have to be punished!

Hi HWG
I am not aware of the site you mention. So I should not give my opinion on the site. But it is your discussion and I cannot stay away from participating . So here is my general philosophy
It is our acceptance that has led the cheaters do whatever they want... we have been ignoring them all throughout and so they have made it a habit - taken us for granted. Unfortunately as I see, there is no escaping from this.
We pay taxes and some guys make their personal profits...
we give our efforts, time and hard work and the firm owner makes profits...
....
It is we who have been giving and some culprits have made this to their use. And we feel ok with it... do nothing.
We all know the system is getting towards worse but nothing will change unless we have good laws, properly implemented and the mindset of many change. Until then, all we can do is either sit back do nothing or continue doing our part as we did.

Hi thesids,
Awh yes we face this on a great many sites, and usually behind the scenes. I was shocked to read the information kind of hidden on a blog on the site. They did not have the decency to send us a memo, note or PM. I was quite sadden to be made to feel as if I had done something wrong.
More so thesisds that I have made so many wonderful friends, their, which some are up in age and it saddens me now that although we can communicate via email it will not be the same. We will loose touch and often times wonder what became of them.
So you see the cheaters never take into consideration, not only the lose of earnings for honest people but how it affects us emotionally.
Very sad thesids, I was so upset yesterday, I had to take a break for a while because there is this 90 year old man who interacted with me daily and I cared for deeply, now I will never know if he will be okay. So you see not a win/win but a loose/loose.

Guess my reasoning is he/she who owns the site can set the rules. If they still give the daily 1000 it is still very easy to earn money there. Every website I am on has made changes as it developed, usually paying less or making it more difficult to earn. Every site attracts a variety of cheaters, and it determines how to deal with them to make it fair for all.

There are some whom I will be sure to get their e mails. I also know several from other sites, some here and some on Gather. If they continue to pay the 1000 points daily they still will be pretty lucrative.

I would think that all online sites has continual methods for detecting cheats versus honesty. I love sidetick mostly because I find the many members, no matter their age are so very mature.
I enjoy all the interactions with the great many of them. I just find something further fishy, and it is their prerogative to make changes, only the last change they lost quite a bit of great members.
I just saw a great many that I will whole heartedly miss a great deal, remove all albums and profile information.
It will lead me to wonder if they are okay in life.

Hello hardworkinggurl,
I feel the same way about sidetick and I am on there too. I am not on the weekends and did the picture and add freinds to get points and did the blog. I was heartbroken too. I am still with them because $25.00 is nothing to sneeze at that you can make roughly every other month by viewing there e-mail and answering there blog. I have tried to do there other blogs to get points but it is two hard how many people they pick from that blog 1 to 3 people out like 200 people asnwering it. It is not right the good guys us get punished they should had a software to pick up on the ids that were doing this and ban them from the site.
Well thanks for listing and I hope to still see on Sidetick

Thanks unique for responding, yeah I was so disappointed when they made the change and how they handled it. But what can we do. I only do the Jenny blog and although it will a long time to earn the $25 I figure as long as they do not make it another stipulation, like the last time where they wanted us to do a survey and download then I can answer the blog.
The whole cheat thing is kinda of far fetched, unless they simply did not have some form of checking mechanism, but I find that odd. I did enjoy the site quite a bit and made very descent money there as I was very active, so that part I will miss.
Thanks again and hope to see you there.

Some people just wants to get things the easy way , and so they resort to cheating.
And some would really sweat out, to get something done, and thats wonderful.
One has to choose which way he wants but he will be held accountable and responsible for his actions.

Eh ? Why should the honest and loyal members get punished for the cheating done by cheats. Its totally unfair to punish everyone just for the sake of some cheaters. I think such sites should never jump into business in the first place if they don't implement systems which catch the cheaters and bann them, it does not make sense to punish the hardworking honest member, Obviously the trust of honest and hardworking members would diminish after getting punished for the offence they never committed and besides that some honest members also turn into cheaters after getting bad experiences of being honest. And regarding the question of remaining a loyal member inspite of sudden changes, I would say that it depends on the kind of changes being made, one should evaluate the effects of changes before taking the decision. If the changes are senseless and do not take into consideration loyal and honest members, there is no question you should be working with the site just for the sake of getting your payment. You are encouraging a cheat to do business in this way by deciding to work with him. The site will keep punishing honest members always as they do not have any tools to catch the cheaters and the cheaters are always going to be there in every system or part of the world. Rather if the site is going to invent tools to catch the cheaters and ban them from the system I would appreciate of your decision to be loyal with them, because such sites deserve our loyalty because they value it and respect it by protecting their rights :).
I hope my post has clarity and makes sense. I am not so good at expressing thoughts in writing, they get messed up often :P

Hiya moneyspinner, it has been a while since I have seen you!
Your response makes total sense, and partly the reason that makes me livid. But hey we ae merely members who abide by the rules and this newly implemented one may once AGAIN, be changed.
Unfortunately they will have lost a great bunch of wonderful honest and dedicated members, as many are up there now as we speak doing away with their profiles.
I am shocked to hear that they did not catch bots until now, sort of gives me a sense that they did not have a safe implemented system.

So glad to read that you are doing fine. You are right, I did not give this consideration, that even if the site repairs the cheats will inevitably come back with yet more so that answers my question as to why remain loyal.
Thanks so much for that and have a wonderful day.

Hello Hardworking girl, Yeah I was away for a while with decreased participation on mylot over the last few days :). I hope you are doing fine and having a great time here as always :).
Yeah the rules will change but we cannot suffer the losses and punishment for the thing we never did and why should we suffer ? It takes time for making changes in the rules, the new one's will remain in for a few months atleast and that will create the damage.
One cannot expect to retain their loyal workers by punishing them for no fault of theirs. The site owners should understand that and build a system to catch cheaters. hehehe and if they start catching bots their business would probably close down :P :D. Bots are more loyal and honest than real members to them :P.
Have a great weekend ahead :).
regards moneyspinner.

These kind of things happens, life is not fair.
Cheaters are everywhere, from games to social network sites like Sidetick.
Most of them only want money and they will do all they can to get maximum income; so they start to bot and to cheat the system.
Fully agree that the current situation is not fair towards the fair members. But it's like that; the owners take the decisions and all the members have to agree with that.
I hope the cheaters will get banned and the hard working fair members will get a smal reward. All the best in Sidetick.

I suppose it is just inevitable, completely not fair and changes will come again. Unfortunately it is not a system where they actually have protection from worse cheats, as it appears.
Would have been nice to get a memo and or distribution email saying something like this what we are experiencing and hope you understand.
Instead they place a blog note and by then the blogs were flooded that many will see it. In fact last night I was on the site and the ticks were not increasing and my first thought was there has to be a glitch. Then I go there this after noon to read all over the place disgruntle members before I actually had a chance to read the blog blurb.
Not a good way to run business, however I do have my reservations that it is more then just the cheats, like lack of funds.
@ThomasVH (381)

Their system is as you say not water proof and needs some fixing to avoid cheating in the future.
Like you say yourself; it's also possible they are in lack of funds at this time and try to let the members wait to get paid so they can achieve more funds in the coming days.
It is like this; 98% of the members are fair people who work very hard to get the money. And there is 2% (this number is just an estimation I make) who make money by cheating the system.
Anyhow, my opinion is still that Sidetick is a good place to earn. Not that I have an account there and I'm also not planning to rigster on that site, but I have read several reviews and I know how their system works. They won't go scam soon (I hate the word 'scam' as it is used too many times without reason).
I can only wish you the best as possible there in sidetick social site based on the web 2.0 and of course I hope they will not do these actions again in the future or at least punish the cheaters and not the honest members.

Quite sad indeed, as I have made some wonderful friends up there and although we can keep in contact with them via email it is not the same. See no one was there to socialize, everyone goes there to earn. Fortunately we as good people actually create some great friendships.
I can't begin to tell you that if someone goes missing for two or more days we are all over the place looking for that members as the first thought is that something happened.
I won't have any regrets for the site, only very saddened that some of my great friends up there that I won't be able to share so many of our wonderful personal pictures. But like life all good things come to an end.

Hi dependability and thanks for responding. I have been a very happy member there since October of 2010. I am a great deal of honest money there and really fast. It appears that cheats and bots were, according to the site detected that they now have made some major changes where as now we are only allowed to earn $15 a month and it will take almost two months to get that.
There isn't anything anyone can do or say to make the changes as it appears that they either can't afford to continue as originally planned or they lost a great deal of money unexpectedly. Which in my suspicion is what happened as why restrict anyone when it is quite easily to detect who cheats.
The site will not be as before and my made $125 in six weeks, that is the part I will miss along with some wonderful people I was interacting with on a daily basis. Which by the way left the site.
Thanks again for responding and I see you are new to myLot so a very warm welcome to you.

It really sucks that they want to punish everyone since it really screws over those of us who aren't cheating. Even with this change you can still make more at that place since I have yet to find another place that can even compare. I do wonder if they will lose members before of this but if you think about it without getting angry over the changes you'll still be able to get fifteen bucks a month by answering Jenny's latest blog post and opening the email.
Now if more changes show up like the points for the email and Jenny's blog posts gets changed I will likely leave but for now I'm going to stick around. They should have at least given us some warning about this. I'm sure we all noticed those blog posts that were posting all the time but once those disappeared I figured they fixed the problem. I have no clue how to even work one of those cheat bot things and rarely did I get a thousand points on my own once I answered Jenny's latest question and opened the email.

Hi,
I have seen your avatar up in the site a few times here and there. , It is nice to be discussing with a few members from the sidetick site as we are the ones are getting affected by it. I truly enjoyed sidetick a great deal as I have made a great deal of friends, sort of like on FB, and or myspace, but further as I can't begin to tell you the bonding we have had, where as first wind of someone being ill many members even though maxed out still ticked to help each other out.
The no warning is what is troublesome as maybe the cheats would have simmered down believing they were being watched. However, I sort of do not believe entirely that it is the cheats/bots they are mentioning as why isn't anyone being banned. As I am sure you have read the hundreds of complaints and no one is posting that so and so is gone, prior to the change. I tend to believe that they did not expect for members to earn as quickly as we were and some how there are some financial issues, as think for a moment, if they were highly concerned with cheats would the ticker still work for Jenny's blog. No one varify's what we put on there as the ticker instantly credits, and whenever we have had any issues with it, we had to copy paste with time-stamp for them to go back and check. So there really is no protection mechanism with that either.
A great many of my friends have already left and some planning on leaving as soon as they cash-out. See this is my second round of quick change with them, and same scenario the first time they lost well over half of the members, when we all had to do the surveys for Jenny blog. So for anyone to think they can log in answer Jenny's blog and leave in two minutes to get the 1000 points, it will not happen for long term, I believe. There will be some form of restriction with that also. If I do the math right it is going to take a full month to do it, then you cash out and then have to wait the ten business days if they pay on time as I have been waiting two months for 3rd and 4th payment. The other concern on my mind is that they do not care if we have more then one user on each IP, as I know a great many members who have husbands also as referrals. So the cheats as they call them, will find their ways to add, son, daughters and so forth.
For now who knows what is going to happen, the only thing I am upset with is that to a sense we are all labeled cheaters and it did not matter whether we killed ourselves to max out daily and were honest.
So best of luck to us all, but mostly with sidetick as many, members are up there recruiting members for thousands of other programs, which sort of kills the site as all that is spam.

I am not a member of Sidetick, but I don't think it is fair for everyone to get punished because of some cheats.
If the site could not distinguish between the honest members and the ones that abuse it, then maybe it is not worthwhile to remain a member. You'll always get punished along with the cheats everytime it is discovered.

So true bounce, as this was my first thought. I figured instead of them speculating we will just punish all, now how fair is that they can't figure out who is cheating yet they treat all members as if we did something wrong.
Wishful thinking for me to think that during their difficult time they take into account loyalty though.

Of course not, it's not fair at all that honest members being punished because cheaters, or even without any reason. If you've worked hard to earn, not cheated in any way and complied with the terms of the site, then you deserve to be paid and not punished. Simple.
Sites I guess do that for taking the simple aproach. Instead of removing the source of the problem, they cut them all and harms all members, cheaters and honests, and also ensures members get less income and the site more profit. Nice move for the site.
Why should you stay? It's a hard decision, but I guess if the site was legit and is still paying according to their rules, you may stay if the changes are not drastical, a small change may not be worth the hassle to leave a good site. But if the site was in trouble, or changed seriously, better leave.

Hi RamRes,
Very difficult decision I am sure for the company to have made this drastic decision, unless their intention was to build a community then allow members to attach in some way like FB and Myspace then pull the plug the way they dis as what I can't understand is why are the so called cheats not suspended, instead simply apply a new rule to so to speak accuse and make all loyal members feel like they did something wrong.
Yes I am thinking to wait a bit yet and see if the drastic changes will affect me in some way, which if it remains as is would not be worth it as I am sure further restrictions will be placed.
At any rate shows that sometimes dedication in some site scenario are difficult to comprehend. This is why I love myLot

I agree that in any site cheats need to be suspended a.s.a.p. with no exceptions. Here we have a situation that they did not get suspended, but instead all honest members get penalized for the actions of the cheats.
That site is undergoing drastic changes and it has caused many honest members to leave as it was so unfair. What a life when honesty does not get honored.

I'm not a member of that site, but it could be a bad sign or omen, I've seen more than enough sites blaming cheaters and even whole countries and continents just because they failed in running there business or if they are losing money and about to run. There was even a site I joined before that wanted to ban the whole of Asia and seems to be insinuating that all of us here are cheaters! it was really about money cause cause all Asians need to upgrade so they wont't be banned or to cash out, I said what? Imagine how much he was gonna make if all Asian members upgraded hahaha,up yours! the Admin was the cheat and most Asians speak better English than him LOL.
Gong back to the discussion, like what you mentioned, would you go to jail for a thing somebody did? If a site has that kind of culture or justice then maybe we should have second thoughts being in there.

I agree, I find it unfair when site single out specific countries to begin with, but to single handedly changes rules over night, does not seem to be suggestive of honesty.
Too bad though they had a really great thing going, as many are not standing for it. Apparently we can still earn only it will take triple the amount of time then to top they make you wait two weeks or more to receive it.
I never minded the wait time for the actual payment as it was a great site, but all good things come to an end and well who want to be reminded on a daily basis that we cannot be trusted as a whole.
