what the causes of ice ages?
To my knowledge, the cause of the division of age caused by the rotation of the earth is not stable. if for example the earth close to the sun, the earth became warm. suppose if the earth is at the farthest point to the sun, then place the ice age.
if this does happen, then later a few centuries later the ice age could be back again, right?

Although it may have something to do with the distance of the Earth from the Sun (which is fairly constant), it is much more likely that glacial periods are caused by a complicated series of relationships between the amount of heat the Earth receives and the amount it radiates into space together with the movements of the atmosphere which transfer heat from one part of the world to another.
Ice ages (and warm periods) do occur in cycles but they are not regular (as you might expect if the Earth's orbit took it significantly further from the Sun at any point).
Here is a rather long article. Look at the section on 'Causes': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_age#Causes_of_ice_ages

One possible cause is SUPERVULCANO, which has led to darkness on this earth for months
Never happened due to the eruption of one volcano in europe who drowned / destroy the culture there.

Many historical records that can be used to show that indeed there was a "cooling" of the earth at that time (mid-century). It could be said that the beginning of this winter period experienced a range of 400 years, from 1250 when the Atlantic mountains of ice began to grow, 1300 when the summer began can not be expected to occur in northern Europe, in 1315 when there was continuous rain and great famine, theoretically 1550 otherwise the global glacial expansion, and 1650 when the first climatic minimum occurs. Scientists still can not provide a satisfactory explanation, why there was a "little ice age", but there is a strong candidate causes of the phenomenon. In the 1645-1715 period, solar activity is very, very low. Solar activity are marked with sunspots observed (Sun Spot is an area on the surface of the sun are relatively more "cool" from its surroundings; 5000 K, 6000 K compared to that environment, and make the area darker than its surroundings, forming black spots on the surface sun). There are even a few years, where sunspots are not observed at all. This period is known as the Maunder Minimum.
We're ahead of the ice age, not global warming. For:
1. We are not the cause of Global Warming. The maximum concentration, only 3% of carbon dioxide (CO2) produced by mankind. The amount of CO2 in the air now absorbs nearly all the existing radiation. So, there was no relationship between CO2 levels and the relation of radiation.
2. 17,000 scientists signed a petition stating that the CO2 produced by humans are not causing global warming. Increased levels of CO2 by 30% percent of our atmosphere in 100 years is a result of rising sea temperatures. And rising sea temperatures caused by increased earthquake and volcanic activity.
3. So far we learned in school that the Ice Age occurred only once in history. But, in fact, ice age occurred several hundred times.
4. The sun is electromagnetic. This is what lead to the emergence of sunspots, which continues to grow. Earth is also electromagnetic. At certain times, the magnetic poles will change. And this change caused a change in our solar system.
5. In the past, when the pole changes occur, accompanied also by volcanic activity, earthquakes, ice ages and extinctions. Occurred simultaneously. This change occurs within a very short time. Imagine, in one night, the temperature can drop 20 degrees!
6. Periodically recurring ice ages every 11,500 years.
7. One inch rainfall to produce 10 inches of snow. In 2007 alone, Colorado as high as 30 feet of snow in one storm alone. Read her story at http://www.iceagenow.com/Record_Lows_200 ...
8. Currently, the Polar Arctic have temperatures cold enough to cause the Ice Age. Just needed a little extra moisture, to produce more snow. Today, with rising sea water temperatures due to volcanic movement, humidity increased in the Arctic Pole.
9. To see a list of glaze (glacier), which began to form at this time, see site http://www.iceagenow.com/ This data is not loaded by the mass media. Most likely, we all will experience the ice age.
10. The film "An Inconvenient Truth" Al Gore's misleading his people. The right information in the film just about the increase of temperature of sea water will trigger the appearance of the Ice Age in an instant.

The cause of the ice age one of which is due to the aerosol cooling process that often befall the planet. The eruption of Krakatoa is one such example on a small scale while one of the dinosaur extinction theory (Chicxulub collision) is one example of a large scale.
Ice age ended about 10,000 years ago or in the early Holocene time (late Pleistocene). The process of melting ice in this age is relatively old and some experts proved this process ended about 6,000 years ago.
