I will never figure out why so many people get so tense during a thunderstorm. My partner Rachel and my sister Sam are two of these people. The minute the thunder starts rumbling they start to invision every worse possible case senario. With my partner I find it endearing though that she wants to be right up under me during bad weather. The only down side to this behaviour is the fact that I have never broken that child hood desire to play in the rain. I don't care if there is a flash flood warning out I want to be out in it. What's the saying? "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

Welcome to MyLot saphire31
I am also like you and I still love to play in the rain, and I am above 50. There is the magic in the rain which makes people like us to enjoy the monsoon, and play.

Oh! Saphire31! What lovely ending phrase! Indeed, it´s true.
There´s passed over 20 years ago that I don´t play in the rain. My smallest son had made me promise him that I´ll allow him to play in the next heavy rain storm.
It´s been too dry here in the last 5 years though =(... we are still waiting a heavy rain this year. We have faith!
Blessings!...

I, like many people, often get a headache before a thunder storm comes. But that doesn't stop me enjoying the storm. I like to be outside if possible, or otherwise I will be found standing on my balcony watching every lightning. It's a strange fascination that even I can't explain. I just love those tropical squalls that only last three minutes but feel like the sky has fallen down.

There was an ocassion when I walked out of work with my personel manager and as we headed for the car she said something about not liking the rain. I replied by saying I loved it and was used to it due to spending 3 months on the other side of the country. She just looked at me funny.
