Well they are alike in the rawest, most simple way as they are cold and snowy. However, beyond that, really do they have all that much in common? No, really not all that much. There is different animals that live there. Plus I am sure there are other differences to be had in the arctic and the antaractic. They might have a few similarities but in the end, they are as different as they can be. I think that calling them similar would be like calling two cities the same because they have roads and buildings. On opposite ends of the world mind you. I think that some people just use both of them as interchangeable values which does kind of amuse and mortify me at the same time. However they are really not the same when you think about it all that much.

Hi, Kirtricks! They're alike in that they're at the poles, and that they're cold and snowy. Otherwise, they're not alike at all.

Who says that? They are as different as it is possible to be! The biggest difference being that one is just ice floating on the ocean, and the other is a continent sized landmass. Their animal inhabitants are also completely different. The only common thing is snow and ice. The U.K. has snow and ice too, but we wouldn't compare it to the arctic and antarctic!
