Did the Garden of Eden really exist?

God forms a man from the dust and settles him in a garden in a region called Eden. Some people say that Eden was closer to Heaven(or heaven itself), some say it was situated on a very high mountain, some say it was at the north pole, some dismiss it as nonsense and no place ever existed. What are your views regarding this place? The Bible account of Genesis in Genesis 2:8-14 we learn a number of specifics about that place, it was located in the eastern part of the region called Eden, watered by a river that became a source for four rivers. Two of the four rivers mentioned in the account-the Euphrates and the Tigris, or Hiddekel flow today and some of their source waters are very close together. It was penned down by Moses some 2,500 years after the real incident happend , so some land marks could have changed....

Jesus spoke of God's recorded word as the truth. John 17:17 (New International Version, ©2010) 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. There is no reason to doubt that the garden of Eden existed but was probably destroyed by the flood of Noah's day. The details about the rivers and that two still exist today give us some idea of location. The events that took place in the Garden of Eden clarify so much as to why the earth is the way it is today (full of violence) and what will happen in the future. The earth will one day become an earth-wide beautiful garden. Great subject, thanks for posting!

Sure! most of the places and events that are mentioned in the Bible, have those geographical and historical evidence which makes it more accurate than just writing down thoughts. And yes, as you said, we all are in await of that beautiful paradise soon to come. Thanks for posting!

I'm sure we all can see the whole earth transformed into a beautiful garden pretty soon! that's a Biblical promise, where there would be no more food shortages, wars, crimes, hunger, violence or any pollution! If you are interested in knowing more, please feel free to ask.

If we read the Bible with an open mind we will find that it gives us the names of places, and in many cases exact dates when the events occured. The first people were very intelligent and could write, so they wrote down their own history. Just made a search with "Cuneiform" about an old script that was in use thousands of years ago. I think you will find some interesting things about this on the net. The script was written on clay, so it must have been very heavy - just imagine writing a letter and sending it with a mailman - poor guy.. Later Moses started collecting and writing down what happened in his time 1513 B.C.E. I guess we cannot convince all about the Bible being history if they have already decided to not believe, but for those with an open mind, there is a lot of evidence that Archeology and other science can give us. Anyway, if God has decided to make the earth like Eden in the future, it is impossible for human beings to stop him. He will win..

Some may also wonder if there is anything on that place left that would show it was there, and we can only tell them that it is not very likely, as there have been so many changes after that time. The big flood in Noah´s days must have swept away most of it, if not all. So we have to rely on other kind of proof, and we have enough of it in the Bible and elsewhere.

Hello buenavida (1883), a very nice point you have brought out here that we cannot convince people who already made up their minds about not to believe in the Bible, so no sort of evidence can actually convince them. Yes! when God decides to make the earth like Eden very soon, he will accomplish it! Thanx 4 ur response.

Yes you are right. It was said that Eden is located in the crossing of two rivers, the Tigris and I think the Neil river. If you will look at the map, this river cross each other in a country now called Iraq.

Yes, there is enough proof to tell if it really did exist. Thanks for your response.

As per bible said, garden of eden really do exists. It is where the first human lived. Unfortunately, when the first human has committed sin by eating the forbidden fruit, the garden of eden became unaccessible and it has perished since. But as per the bible also said, the time will come when the paradise will return. And there will be no more negative things that will happen there.

greetings! i think it did. and it would be a lot nicer to believe if it really did, although no one can really say for sure. a lot has happened that science can't really prove or disprove everything.

There is evidence for the existence of garden of Eden and for that matter, there is proof both archeologically and historically that the events which happened in the Bible were written down as a fact. Science does require proof, but it isn't still able to make theories come out as proof as yet. Thanx 4 ur response.

I believe what is written in the bible. I have to believe in the Garden of eden. without that truth, Adam and Eve and the beginning of man would just be a lie.

Yes, very well put forth, the existence of humans started all from the Eden, a real place created by out creator. Thanx 4 ur response.

I think it existed. Bible gives a bunch of clues about it's existence , including it's location. Nowadays, it's located on the territory of Turkey , very fertile grounds , but nothing "divine" about it now.
