Hi akangirl, Buying a car is a serious business and since you are from India you must be knowing that it is not easy for average indian to change cars when they feel like so if you buy a car it stays with you for atleast 5 years if not more. These days all cars are good engine wise so you got to look for how much space you want. Also Cost.. many small cars are very costly while cars from Suzuki are much cheaper. Then you should also look at maintance cost which again Maruti Suzuki wins by a long distance and last but not the least resale value. Keep this in mind and you would be happy with your brand new car.

Actually i was thinking of buying maruti only as its very trusted and its said to have best resale value. I am confused whether swift is better or alto? I personally like swift but new alto is said to be good too.

Pick out a car you like then take it to a mechanic have them to check it out BEFORE you sign any paper work. That will save you in the long run. The one thing i look at is the ease of working on them. That will tell you how much it will cost if or when it breaks down. If they offer any kink of extend warranty look at it real closely. That is just mytocents hope it helps

Hi Great! I think most important when it comes to vehicles is fuel efficiency.. Car with good milage is very important and offcourse comfort is also important. First you have to plan for finance I mean budget for the car. Then search all manufactures for that range and make a list, Comapare Price, Milage , Comfort, feul eficiency, Petrol/Desiel etc. this is what I did Before buying my car. Hope It will help you to deside. Go for Better one. I think its better to test drive before buying it and do read the reviews. Good luck

I think you can check Swift desiel its good one, Good milage, Comfort everything is there. Other than swift you can think about Suzuki with good milage good name and good resale value with low price. I personally like Santro its good in milage and comfort. You r from india so you have many options difficult to choose right? Good luck and do post which car you opted for...

In India , the first thing to consider while buying a car , is budget ! If you have anywhere near 5L , go for a small car , like Nissan Micra or VolksWagon Polo are value for money . If your budget is more than 5L than you have variety of Sedans to choose from . I suggest you go for the one which is easy to maintain and has the spare parts available easily through out the market. One thing, avoid Fiat , its a too good to resist, but you will regret after 5 yrs !

First you need to decide what is important to you. Seating capacity, comfort, trunk size, storage capacity, gas mileage, power windows/locks. After you rank those in importance to you you should be able to make a pretty good list of cars with comparable features. You might find the car you like the best because only one has all the features you have been looking for. With the price of gas nowadays I would seriously consider gas mileage as a top priority. Remember, some gadgets and gizmos like radios and power start and such can be added later. Here are the things you can't add later: storage capacity, gas mileage, seating capacity. Power windows, and power locks would also be hard to add later.
