i saw on tv these people making their own natural cleaning supplies with like vinegar and etc for around the home but they never said what was in what type of cleaner other than they had vinegar in it. im allergic to chemicals and was going to switch over to all home made with natural stuff to clean with but have no idea where to get the recipes for the different types of cleaners you can make and what to have in them.. any ideas? do you make your own cleaning products? do they work as well?

Most of the 'home cleaners' that I have seen are based on vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda. Here is an excellent article (8 pages!) on putting together a 'green' cleaning kit: http://www.care2.com/greenliving/make-your-own-non-toxic-cleaning-kit.html#

My daughter makes her own cleaning supplies. IT's very good and smells good too! She also makes her own laundry detergent. It works well, is all natural and comes out to about a penny per load!

You probably wounldn't have to kill for it! I will ask my daughter to teach me how to make it and then I will pass it on. You might look it up online too though.

I just came across this article about cleaning with herbs and spices. I thought it was really interesting and I'm definitely going to be trying out a few of these things. The link to this article is http://www.care2.com/greenliving/cleaning-with-herbs-spices.html [NOT A REFERRAL LINK!] They say that a lot of herbs are natural disinfectants... a whole lot better than the chemical ones!

Natural cleaning products are all over the internet. All you have to do is do a search for "natural cleaning products" or "home made cleaning products". One thing I use is baking soda for cleaning anything that needs a bit of scrubbing. It scrubs like scouring powder but without any harsh chemicals. Baking soda can be used to clean just about anything, including laundry. Look up "uses for baking soda" and you'll see what I mean. It's amazing stuff.

seems like years ago when they really first started coming out with the all natural cleaner trend like they have now and nothing worked well.. i tried all kinds and ended up wasting my money so i figure if i make my own with cheap ingredients i dont have much to lose

Baking soda and vinegar are good all-natural cleaning aids. You can use them as they are without adding anything at all to clean you sink, your bathrooms, your counters and even your housewares. Vinegar can make your white clothes even whiter and yellow stain remover as well.

You can't go wrong with Coca-Cola. It can supposably do many things, I'm not sure if some are true or not but I know for sure it can remove rust, Iv'e seen it myself. Some classmates from college used it to remove rust from a chair, amazing!

yes, vinegar works for almost everything. it disinfects, cuts grease, etc. i would do a search for other things mentioned to clean with and you will find natural recipes for cleaning on all kinds of sites. like cleaning with lemon juice, and baking soda, etc.

All I know is that you can make a cleaning liquid but it won't smell as good compared to commercial products. There are a lot of tutorials regarding that on Youtube.com. Why not try taking a look there?

The only natural I think of at the moment was you have said vinegar. I can also add boiling water. Using vinegar can clean silver or metals which can see in our bathroom like the faucet. It acts like muriatic acid in a friendly way and revive the beauty of the metals. Also in porcelains as well. Boiling water, you can use boiling in cleaning 2nd degree sticked burnt rice. And cold thickened oil or grease after cooking. Its melt down and slide easy while washing later on.
