to die young or grow old ?

There are only two things in life... We die young or we grow old and then die. I am certain you have your reasons. Lately, I've been watching news and it's hurtful to see parents burying their children... but on the other hand, it's also painful to see your loved one die old with all the memories you had. If given the chance to choose, what kind of existence would you prefer?

Hi blue, I had this discussion with a friend sometime ago. Its the same question as yours. I remember he told me he don't want to die old. I said what if you would not die at all? He could not really stand growing old, much more to live forever, it would be painful, he said. Personally, I would not mind living forever. Think of the exciting things to come and you are still around to see them. This world would not be same forever, it may not last forever, it may be eaten up by the sun. By then, I told my friend, I would be on a far away planet living out a new existence. I told my friend that If given the chance to live forever, I would make out the most of it. I may be able to help a lot of people with the accumulated knowledge of the centuries. Isn't it exciting?

That would be very interesting. You have a wild imagination, but I agree, it's indeed possible. We never know what wiill happen anytime soon. It's good to ask now, how long will forever be? Or how old will you be by that time?

Greetings! I would prefer to die old. I want to live and share happiness with my family. I want to make more moments with them. Yes, its painful but I accept this. I want to make life meaningful. I have a lot of dreams to fulfill, lots of people to make them happy, lots of blessings to share, mistakes to correct and many more that's why I want to die old. I want to my grand sons and grand daughters and tell them how important life is. :)

Personally to me I rather die old then young because if my parents see me die that will be a lot od stress and depression and they might die due to that. However if my parents which I know they will die old yes it will hurt and be sad but I know they have lived a life of greatest and have been through there bad and good times but, they have had many great tines which is a good thing. It will make me feel more at ease because i know my parents will want me to be happy all the time because they will be in heaven. So myself I would want to die old I know it will be hard on my sisters and brothers. That will see me diet my goal is to live to be 109 or 110 to see the year 2100 that's my dream or goal in life but if Jesus comes before en hey that's something I can't stop haha

To me it's about the climate and the air quality and your health and what you eat is very important as well and as long as you are active then you will live . Just don't be lazy I think is one of the greatest secrets of living a long life in the bible, they said some people well the pele in the bible lived hundreds of years and I want to have that gift from god if he is willing to give to me haha

Well that would be very interesting to reach that age. But actually there are some here in the Philippines who aged 100 up and they're still good. Nobody knows exactly when. So while living, make the most of your life!

I am in no position to choose whether to grow old and die, or not grow old but die young. It's all up to God and whatever He will, then that's it for me. I can grow old and called blessed or die young and be with my Lord. If I have my request granted, I don't want to grow old but not so old. I want to see God's blessings in my life and in the life of my children. However, if growing old is a burden, then I would like to die young.

Either way, living a life dedicated to God while living is surely a must.

If I could then I would want to die with my parents/family so we can go to the other world together and n one's going to be left behind. But I'd also like to grow ld and have my own family, and watch my kids grow.

Why thank you.. I don't really like to leave anyone behind, because I know that they would be devastated- especially my parents. What about you? When would you like to die?

I want to grow old, definitely. I'd like to get married and have kids and grandchildren. I'd like to live for as long as I can fend for myself. My gandpa is 85 and walks without support and can still drive. He sleeps a lot these days, but he is still living a full life, enjoying his great grandchildren. I'd like to grow old like that. I just don't want to be dependent on others in my old age. In that case it would be better to rest.

My grandmother is already 89 and walks unassisted. I am amazed how they able to manage a healthy lifestyle through the years knowing that the life expectancy nowadays is 75. i wish the best for your life.. Do good and make good.

Of course I still want to grow old. I want to see my kids grow up and have their own family. Beside even if you really want to die young we are not God. And only God knows what His plan for us.

hello blue_servant! i would like to live my life to the fullest. But it does not mean that i would want to grow old and bent and gray. Oh, i want to experience living as an old person but NOT THAT OLD, where you would be useless, senile and can't even remember one's name. Its hurting for me to see someone whom i have known to be strong and robust, get so old and senile, slowly withering right before your eyes. Well, i just don't want to end up like that. And so i would choose to live my life to the fullest, live to a healthy, prime age and then die peacefully and gracefully. Getting to that point where you're old and so senile is just not my thing.

Well we have the same thing in mind. I want as well to maximize my time loving and serving my family and seeing them grow and have their own families as well. And when time comes, I would love to die peacefully without pain or sufferings.

i think i'd like to die old. i want to have more time with my sister~ i plan to let her come live with me as soon as he enters college... and looking further into the future, i'd like to have my own family and raise my own children. i super want to experience the joy of being a mother.:) Choosing to live might be a difficult choice because it isn't easy, but i guess the whole experience of life itself is beautiful enough to make me want to stay for as long as i can.:)

Wow, knowing this made me ponder upon my own dreams as well. It's good to hear stories of people trying to live happily with the hope of waking up each day, aiming for some realistic goals and achieving it at the end of the day. i also have a half sister, and I wish to meet her soon before it's too late. God bless our lives. Make your life beautiful.=)

I lost my dear father when he's old and still mourning the loss until now after a year. The memories are still here, so vivid and detailed and it's painful to know he's not with us anymore. But these memories remind us that we had best time with him and were very thankful we had shared life with him for so many years. I rather die old, leaving memories with my loved ones than die young and miss a lot of time being with them!

I'm sorry to hear that. Most likely, his resting now with our eternal Father. Anyhow, with your experience, I'm glad you chose to grow old and die. Live your life well! I'll pray for your dad. God bless!!

Given a choice I would love to grow old, I wanna see my grandchildren and of course I wanna meet the daughter in law. Yes we do have certain reasons why we would choose either of the two and with the choices that we make, I just think that we are mature and sensible enough to think of the consequences of our actions. For me although I do have some fears og growing old like what if my son won't take care of me when I grow old, what if he will put me in a center, that would really be hurtful for me since we do have a different culture. I just think that I'd rather grow old than die young. Life is to GREAT not to experience it longer!

Exactly, life is great. I'm just a bit curious why some youth today are making their lives risky. Perhaps they have their stories, but definitely it's a sad one. enjoy life!

I would prefer to die at an old age, if I could choose as this way I can live out my life and enjoy my children and continue life with all the pleasures and joys that come with them.

I want to die old. But not too old to be a burden to my loved ones. I want to see my children when they grow up. And I want to go to places and see more people.

I want to grow old. I want to live my life to the fullest. I want to spend as much time on the earth being happy. I don't see how anyone benefit by dying young. Life should be taken seriously. We should live it as if we are bless. Make it as profitable and prosperous as possible.
