Our earth will soon get a second Sun for few days when one of the brightest stars in the night sky explodes into a supernova. This will happen as soon as this year and will remain for atleast a week or two. This will be the most stunning light show in the planet's history and we all will be lucky enough to see this with the grace of god. Now the only debate among scientists is that when will this happen. The scientists from University of Southern Queensland in Australia claimed this to be happen before 2012. What you think about this event and what are your plans to enjoy this moment.

I have not heard that news. But I don't think so if there is something to enjoy with that news because if we suffer a lot of damage cause by an extreme heat of a single sun how much more if the sun will be added with the another 1. If the heat of the sun dried up a lot of rice fields and water dams in the Philippines and causes a lot of damage last year of 2010 how much more if that sun rays will be added by another rays from the other sun? Do you think is there something to enjoy?

As you had said it is not just a moon but a sun that means the quality of light that it may produce is the same us the quality of the first sun, and if it will appear during night time that means we could not experienced dark night but still day light. Remember the characteristic of the sun and what it could give us specially today that there is a large area of ozone layer that has been broken.

Nothing will happen to lifes. The only change will be that for a week or so the light will be there in night also means no difference in day and night schedule.

I don't know where you got this information from, but such a university will not say anything like this.I am living in 2013,I still don't see the supernova that you are talking about.Maybe it caused due to some miscalculation, but I doubt if that is the case.

An interesting post but you did get a few things wrong. There will be no second Sun in the unlikely event that Betelgeuse did explode in the near future. Actually Betelgeuse is some 640 light years distant from us so it would be 640 years before we knew that it did explode. For more information check this link: http://news.discovery.com/space/dont-panic-betelgeuse-wont-explode-in-2012.html

Wouldn't be surprised. They been planning it for years!! Next thing they gonna tell us is it is a sign of the End, the coming of the Lord, or whatever propaganda they expect us to swallow. All I'm saying is be wary of these events and if they truly do come to pass, I hope there isn't some cataclysmic repercussion in the aftermath..

Well... If we have a star explode in 2012, we won't see the light until well after. So if we're getting light from a supernova in 2012, then it happened a while before then. But I haven't heard anything about any star collapsing in our vicinity.

I wonder if this is a good news or a bad news... I think, stars dying is not a good sign as it means one of the sources of energy is lost.

Great info. Well, i guess what happened in the universe is just the secret of God and we should feel pleased He made that.

I think this is a usually moment in space. Because almost all sun is explodes into a supernova. As a human we must learn about it and we get the adventages of this moment.

This is awesome! But I think this is one of the scientific hoaxes as before. It may be bright in the sky but it will never be as bright as the sun. For sure if you have another object shining as bright as the sun, chances are there are some negative effects that will be caused by that phenomenon that will be experienced here on earth. And that could be very dangerous for us humans.
