Have you ever been through a hurricane?

Hurricane Rita swept through where I live in S.E. Texas on Sept. 23, 2005. It came through overnight, as a category 3 hurricane. Have you ever been through a hurricane, and if so, how strong was it when it made landfall?

When I lived in Florida, I had been though 3. But, they only tore the trees down and flooded out the streets in my location. But other people lost their homes. I don't remember the strength, but saw enough damage to know it was bad.

i live in the philippines and typhoons and storms are common here. But i also lived through 2 huge hurricanes. one was back when i was a kid and the other was just last year. both took our roofs away. hehe
