Ok, I donĀ“t have any kids , but here where I live beating and even spanking is against the law so that is so out of the wuestion for me,.
I would probably let them know that what they did is wrong, ground them, take away privilages like phone tv and stuff like that.
My parenst did like this and I worked out just fine =)

i am sure that raising kids is hard . and I am not expecting it to be a walk in the park, however I can assure you that I will never lay a hand on any of them =)

I suppose it all depends on what they did wrong.
It could be something as simple as a "time out", being grounded from friends or things like tv, computer etc., or an actual spanking.
I do think that you have to make the consequence fit the action.

I am not yet married, If at all i was married and had kids. I love them more than anything, not even my wife. I will explain to you how my mom used to treat us.
Yes if kids do mistakes we are the ones who should take of them and let them know what they did and what are the consequences of doing such mistakes.
Even then if they don't listen and stop doing it, my mom will punish us and in turn she will take the punishment since she feels that its her fault that we did the mistake. If she hit us she use to be worried that we may get rude and stop listening to her after few such beatings cause that would be a common act. so she don't yell a single word at us instead she will stop taking food for that day. Which we wont like and we use to beg a sorry and promise her that we wont repeat the same mistake again.
Guess thats the way we can have more love towards kids and it would be easy to convey them what is wrong and what is right when we are more like friends.
