How much pocket money every month is realistic for children in certain ages to spend? I think it depends on how much money their regular other activities cost per month. Is it a family with one parent or two parents working for the monthly income should also be considered, before a child can demand to have a certain amount of pocket money.I have discussions, that I want some work to be done at home before my child get any pocket money. I hear how much other parents pay their children for doing nothing at home. I'm wondering how many families have an infinite gold mine to dig after gold for it just pouring into their bank account. How much pocket money is reasonable for children in age 10-13 ; 14 -16 ?

there should be only a minimal amount of pocket money, but children should be free to tell parents about there needs, these if reasonable should be fulfilled.

That depends greatly on how much the food or drinks in the school cost, if they are staying back after school to do projects, give them about 1/2 more but no more then that. For children aged 10-13, I would say $5 a day and for 14-16, about $7.50 or perhaps more because they need to grow.
