Backspace in Safari

Why in Safari does it make you go back if you press backspace, is there any way to change this. (This took a while to write)

I think every browser does go back to the previous page if we press backspace (absolutely it is only possible when your pointer does not blink in textarea)...The same is also true if you try it on your other folder windows...Just make sure that the pointer is not in the textarea, blinking...Hope that helps... livecenter

hey thanks dude, turns out safari was being over-responsive, I closed it down, restarted my PC and it worked. BTW thanks, that'll be very usefull, have a feeling I'll need that info soon
