The truth can sometimes hurt.

The sad thing is that reality is sometimes harsher then any slanderous lie that we could make up. There are things that are out there, that we are unable or unwilling to see all of that time. Sometimes people can make up some mean, hurtful things that could be blatant lies, but really there are other times where the truth can be more cutting then any lie that a person could again. Yet despite how much the truth can hurt, it can give us some closure to certain things and perhaps allow us to move on and beyond, and perhaps improve.

In this day and age no matter what it is so very very hard to know if what a person tells you is the truth or a lie. Many people are good at lieing, lies can hurt and destroy people in many different ways. But i do agree that sometimes the truth can be more destructive. We never will know how people feel, we will never know whether to tell a person the truth or to lie to them if asked something. We mainly wonder what we would want if we were in the same situation, or we may not have it in us to tell the truth or to lie. We always wonder what affect the lie or the truth will have on someone, it is not an ideal situation to be in but proves that the truth can be just as hurtful and cause just as much damage as a lie.

Most people are good at lying, sadly that has become a truth(irony, is it not?) The fact is that there are a lot of people who are so good at lying that they have lied so much that they have deluded themselves into a belief that they are telling the truth. The truth can sting a lot but its just better to get it out of the way a lot of the time. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yeah, the truth hurts but I'd still rather know it than be kept in the dark. Closure isn't the right reason for me upon knowing the truth, it's more on enlightenment. Horrible things aren't that bad once you put it under the light compared to horrible things that are kept in the dark.

Sometimes the truth can be a relief. There is just something about what people are saying about you or something that you need to know, being unknown that is very troubling to me. There are times where I think that it can build up in your mind to be something worse, unless you are given the truth. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I think that truth help us see reality instead of fantasy. Some people wouldn't like to live in reality, so they make fantasy to make life as they want to. Every human has rights to think as he/she wants to, in case if it doesn't interfere others. Also I think that in some circumstances better say lies, to prepare person for really bad news.

Reality might not be the most pleasant thing in the world. However, we are only cushioning the pain by entombing ourselves in a fantasy world. Therefore, we are able to really cope with things much sooner by embracing the truth. If not, the truth will come out and things will seem ten times worse. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
