Obama calling for spending freeze and ban on earmarks in tonights State of the Union Address.
Recall campaign 2008, Obama saying he would not sign a bill containing earmarks. ok stop laughing so hard, dry your eyes. He is proposing it again. And cuts to discretionary spending. proposing to cut about $650 Billion.
wow that sounds great. But dont tel the Democrats, they dont like that spending cut phrase.
What do you think? will he actually say this? will it be with a straight face? Can Congress make it happen?

He already said he would veto any non-emergency bill that contained earmarks. So far he has never made good on that promise.. in other words, he lied about it before and he's lying now.

Well, I'm cheating, I saw his speech. In fact, it's on again, but I'm not listening this time. Yeah, he proposed "freezing" spending where it's at...now. I'm not sure he ever said "spending cuts". I heard "investment", "investing"... (Obama smiles). I think most of us call it spending. I expect little or no change from Obama over the next year...

Okay, I couldn't even read that with a straight face. Nope, doesn't sound like a dime is going to be cut.

Talk is cheap...Even if he does say it and even if he does do it...Will it be enough or will it be a paper fan in a hurricane?

He may say that, but it is going to be only 'empty words' coming from his mouth. I've learned you don't pay one bit attention to anything he says! He has promised so many things that he's fallen back on. It is his way of getting people to vote for him and many of those same people will vote for him again because they forget over a period of time what has gone on with him and his administration. Here is one who will not forget, not that I voted for him the first time! AND, he will sign a bill with earmarks as long as Harry Reid is head of the Senate!
