Weird upsetting dream

Hello fellow Mylot dreamers. I had the strangest dream last night. I dreamt I heard a noise outside while asleep. Barely awake, I listened to the noise, but I was too tired to investigate so in my dream, I went back to sleep. lol When I woke up, as my usual custom I looked out my front window to find someone had cut down my trellis and fence! The trellis is special to me, because a dear friend had built it from scratch over the summer and ended up with terminal cancer. He passed on Thanksgiving. I was in shock looking at the space that used to occupy the trellis and fence. I went outside to get a better look, and discovered two black cats sitting on the steps, trying to get into my house. Meanwhile, Bootsie was investigating the intruders. It was weird because he was not hissing, just sniffing. My black cats came out to investigate them too. One managed to push past me and enter the house, and I had to chase him to capture him and let him back out. When I went outside, I noticed the trellis had been cut down like a tree with a saw. Same with the fence. I was devastated. in my dream mind I did suspect the local addicts. Perhaps they thought it was made of metal instead of plastic and cut it down to sell it to the scrap yard. I could not figure out how the trellis disappeared and who would have taken it. I began to cry, thinking of my friend and how hard he worked on that trellis and fence. He was beginning to fail physically from the cancer he did not know he had yet, and everything he did was very difficult for him. He got tired easy. When I woke up I ran down stairs to look out the window. My trellis and fence are still there. I was happy, and thought how silly I was for thinking the dream may be real. Have you ever had a dream that seemed so real you just had to check out the reality of it when you woke up?

No, not quite that real, other than maybe dreaming somebody was watching me. But I've had a few dreams that were pretty disturbing.

That is a really creepy feeling that someone is watching you. Did you waken to find one of your cats giving you the staredown?

My cats are not that subtle. They walk on me, so I know it is them. But I have occasionally had a dream that somebody is standing at the foot of the bed watching me, and I wake up all creeped out.

ewe. That would creep me out too! Can you go back to sleep if you wake up in the night feeling that way? I probably wouldn't. Reminds me of a song. I always feel like somebody's watching me, and I get no privacy.............can't remember who did it though. One hit wonder from the 80's. cool tune.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your friend obviously means a lot to you. I have had quite a few dreams that I have had to really work out the reality of when I woke up. My father passed in 99 and my family and I have felt his spirit ever since then. It has started to slow down over the last year. Well, I had a dream that my father came to my bedside and woke me up. He told me he wanted to take me for a walk on the wild side. He gave me the power to fly and we went all over the world together. He showed me the pyramids, the Nile, the great wall of china, we sat on the Hollywood letters, we looked down on Everest. It was the most wonderful dream. My father told me during our journey that he was very proud of where I had come in life and that he no longer needs to look after me. He said this was what he had been doing for the last year, exploring. He said he checks in with all of us but that he knows we are good. When I woke up I was thrilled. I think I smiled for three days after. I know it was a dream and I also know I needed to have it for my own.

That is a very nice dream to have, flying over the world with your father. I am sorry for you and your family's loss.

That is a really awesome dream that touched you so much. Perhaps God was letting you know that your father is ok and is having the time of his life.

Thank you! It was truly a wonderful dream and sometimes when I go to sleep I imagine we are going on an adventure like that again. I wish I could relive that dream again.

lol! That is funny! It is very weird feeling is it not, to have to check yourself if you have fins or feathers when you wake up in the morning after dreaming?
