A friend of mine took his daughter to see an eye doctor, the co - pay was $30. After seeing the doctor and had some eye drops, she wasn't feel so well on her eyes, and my friend took her to see the doctor again. This time, the receptionist demand another $30, but he refused to pay for it due to yesterday condition after see that doctor. The doctor agreed to waive that $30 co - pay on that day. Ever since, the doctor office keep on calling for that $30 due amount, and he explain over and over again. Later, they even send the collection agency and a lawyer letter to demand that $30. The wise choice is pay back that $30, and explain the whole situation to that lawyer too. Because I don't think that lawyer would go for a case for merely $30 right? What would you do?

I think you are right. I would pay it back. I have been in the same situation. Just pay the bill and talk to the lawyer. In my case the lawyer understood and we worked something out with my doctors office so that it would not go to the collections agency. Still I think that was pretty crappy on the count of your doctors office.

Thats a bit silly really, that they made him pay again. And i seriously doubt that they will take your friends daughter to caught over $30. But i have heard that in america that the legal system is crazy like that, and you can just sue someone easily. And i am guessing that this happened in america, as you use dollars, and i know that the health care system there is like this. Anyway, i hope it all sorts itself out for your friend, but if the doctor waived it, i imagine it should be ok.

If I could afford it,I would just pay the $30,explain per a certified letter about the situation to both the lawyer and the doctors office. Then take him to court over $30 and see how he likes it.Then contact the press and other wesites that take complaints and let everyone know.

YEs, that amount of money is just so little to call a lawyer for. And I think they don't really have to pay since the treatment wasn't even good. I think the doctor may just be wanting more money.

This is really ridiculous. The $30 in the end won't mean much as the lawyer fees will probably be more than $30.

That sounds rediculous. If I wasn't broke I'd just pay them and never go there again. Otherwise just wait and see what happens and fight it out.
