How do you feel about the "Greater Good"

Personally I feel that the idea behind the "Greater Good" is well, Good, I think that if the opportunity is present to remove one person in order to benefit a unit as the whole then it should be taken. This is a huge question when it comes too the death penalty. How do you guys feel about it?
