I have just read an online news that van bommel joined AC Milan from Bayern for a free transfer. He asked Bayern to be released from his current contract. About his move to Milan, whose player will he replace? Gattuso? Seedorf? Ambrossini? Now, how about Bayern? Who will replace Bommel at Bayern?

I don't believe he will replace any of them he's just there to add more competition in my opinion he's getting on a bit himself though o I reckon he may only stay at Ac Milan until the end of the contract he's signed and then move on to either the English premier League or he a possible return to his home nation.

Considering that he is still active in the national team, I am sure he will get playing time or play regularly.

Oh he will definitely get game times but I don't believe he's a replacement for any other player they're all nearing the end of their playing days. No doubt though he's a top quality signing for a free transfer.

AC Milan is in need for an overhaul. Many of the the players are reaching the end of the career. They might be good and still able to play in the serie a but they will have problem when it comes to the champions league. serie a is played at a slower pace and thus does not reveal much of their deficiency, but once they face a pacer team, they will struggle. I hope the best for them when they face tottenham. As for van bommel joining them, I am surprise that they did get him. Yes he is a good player but AC need a younger player whom they can blood by playing him with the likes of Gattuso and Seedorf.

It will be a good move for AC Milan. I am not sure why Van Bommel wants to move from Bayern to AC Milan. He was their captain and was enjoying a good spell there. For AC Milan their revamp of the team continues as they look forward to build the team of the future. Cheers! Ram

I was disappointed when hearing this, because I am a Bayern fan since a little child and I always appreciated aggressive and impulsive players like Mark van Bommel. The reason may be that he has had some arguments with Louis van Gaal and the arriving of Luiz Gustavo. It was rumored that he will not be captain and first team player anymore, because van Gaal planned using Gustavo there or Toni Kroos, when he will be fit. So I think van Bommel didn't wanted to fight for his place anymore, because he is 33 years old and wanted a sure place at Milan, where the holding midfielders are all long time injured. So it was better for him to go, although I regret this transfer.

in milan van bommel comming is like adding bullet to the magazine. not like putting bullet into shotguns since they ready to be fired up. lack of experience in italian football will be an issue to bommel. for bayern i think they quite understand about regenerations but the lack of interactive in bundes liga midfield is not a new thing so probably they will bring someone form youth team.

It's been a great summer and winter for AC Milan but they have way TOO many midfielders. They have these players (which I will list below) for 4 midfield spots. Mark van Bommel Gattuso Seedorf Strasser Flamini Pirlo Ambrossini Prince-Boateng Emanuelson Alexander Merkel and Thiago Silva has played defending mid at times this season. The recent editions are nice but they have I think too many midfielders. Don't be suprised if 1 or 2 if the midfielders are sold in the next few transfer windows.

Good signing by AC Mila. I wonder what Inter are doing in the transfer market? They need to replace aging stars as well.

It will be interesting to see how van bommel does at Milan and where/when he will play. I believe bayern may replace him with a youth player.
