Warning: this discussion is only for those who have opinions and who can palate others too!!! I have been here 4 weeks and the one thing practically screams out in the discussions is Newbies Back Off!! Admonishing one new member after another, pointing out rules and regulations, offering new fences to curb them in!! Cutting them wings and not allowing them the freedom which the sites like mylott offer!! It is so not fair and unjust!! Yes we are going to make mistakes, yes we are going to break a few rules, yes we are going to find loop holes to generate some extra space and then WE WILL GROW UP and become MATURE, SUAVE and be perfect law abiding citizens!! Perhaps the older generation should unclench those tight fists and let us play around a little!! Now for my EVER GLOWING, ILLUMINATING SENIORS! I bet all this invasion and the resulting chaos is very unsettling!! Messes the wonderful and peaceful life but then doesn't life become a terribly boring never ending monotony!! so let them have their fun and we might as well enjoy a good laugh!! So drink it all in and enjoy this perfect melange of different cultures!! Happy mylotting everyone!

I am not entirely sure what you have experienced on here lately, Mysticalecstasy, since I haven't been able to be on here much in the last couple of months. I can tell you that from what I have seen in the past, sometimes it depends on how the newer users approach a subject or their attitude in general that has more of an effect on how they are received in the community than whether or not they break a Guideline or two. I know that when I was a newer user I didn't get "admonished" by the more experienced myLotters, but one particular member did offer me a few suggestions on how to attract more responses as well as increase my earnings, and his advice definitely paid off - literally. I didn't ask for his advice, but he gave it freely and in a nice fashion, and I really appreciated the help.

LOL! I think it is funny that the huge smile on your face is freaking out your mom and dad, but I am glad that you are finding this place so much fun! I can also understand why you would be "hooked" by Top and want to stalk him, but I feel that I must warn you here that you are not the only one that feels that way about him and you will have to be content to share your stalking duties with others.

I have fallen in love with mylot!! I felt like kicking myself for not joining it sooner!! The Only time i got admonished was when Sir Top took it upon himself to clear out some of my cobwebs and he did it so effectively i was totally hooked!! So then i set out to stalking him till he gave in and sent me a friend request!! Ever since then i have introduced to culture which i must say is so civilized and appealing!! So i supporting this huge smile on my face throughout the day!! Freaking out my mom and dad!!

Happy Mylotting to you and also Welcome to Mylot. We really are a great group of kind caring people. Well most of us, lol. We also welcome newbies, after all we were once newbies too. Guess what? Us old timers that have been here a long time get discussions deleted too. I just figure when that happens, welcome to mylot. When I first joined, I jumped right in too. I didn't read the guidelines right away. since I have joined there have been some changes, good changes. Mylot really is a great site.

I suspect you are right. I've been around for awhile, and I shudder at how many discussions I see MyLot deleting now. That is discouraging for the newbies as well.

Exactly and its sad to see all these newbies staring off with how do you earn or how much can be made from mylot!! Mylot is so much more than an earning site!! I don't know about others but i find it very disappointing to see them flocking mylot simply to get the numbers rolling!!

"...who can palate others too" I have never heard 'palate' used in that way; the meaning is clear from the context though. I would have said, "...who can stomach the views of others also" all the best urban

For you to stomach someone's views you need to have swallowed them which means you probably liked or didn't entirely dislike their taste!!

Hi mys! I think newbies should not be discouraged at all. After all everyone was new, when one started on mylot. You are very right that making mistake is part of learning and newbies tend to make few mistakes (in fact all of us do, even those who are seniors here). Please do not take those negative comments to your heart. I have seen few of your posts and I find that you have potential to be a very good mylotters. My support will be with you. All the best.

Hi there mysticalecstasy, I think all online communities (and not only online ones) tend to create an "elite ruling group" - people who have their inside jokes, are fed up with seeing the same mistakes from newbies all over again, and, in general, are not willing to accept new members until they have proven themselves. Now, in all due honesty, I felt quite welcome at myLot when I first joined, four months ago, and that was mostly because the veterans were friendly and willing to help. Plus, myLot needs new members, otherwise it can get quite boring. And I have to say, it can be quite annoying to browse the day's discussions and find that half of them regard issues already clarified in the FAQ - I can see why a veteran member would go off every now and then about this topic. I suggest you stick around for a while, nobody bites

Hi, and welcome to mylot! I will help any newbie that needs it especially when I see them doing things that violate the terms. It is our responsibility to help others, and even though I won't get anything out of it money wise, I do it so they know what they need to do in here to be successful, and also not to get discussions deleted fro violations. I have lost a lot of earnings because I helped someone, and I will continue to do it. I do believe all newbies are welcome here, but that being said, they aren't exempt from reading the rules before they jump in and start posting. You are right that there are a lot of discussions that get deleted because they posted a questions that has been answered in the faq[s and guidelines. I will post the faqps and guidelines in my response, to let them know they need to read. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Yes the seniors here are incredibly helpful!! Its pity we don't get to meet people like them in the real world! It does get annoying though when one have to remind the rules and regulations to the newbies again and again! One wishes people would learn to look before they leap!! Thanks for the response and have a nice time mylotting!!
