I am a tea drinker and so is my father. Two of us, together, have consumed a variety of tea. i love the Darjeeling aromatic tea though. My sisters drink it occasionally more as a therapy for cold and congestion. They drink it with ginger and herbs. Apart from the anti-oxidant quality, tea holds memories for me and i love it with a few drops of fat-free milk and little sugar.
How do you drink your tea?

Hi Mou!
I am not very found of tea. Since childhood, it was the glass of milk, which was taken with breakfast. My parents would not serve me tea when I was a child and therefore, I did not develop a taste for tea. At (my) work place, I have seen 98% of the employees sipping tea at least twice a day, however, you can call me an exception. Earlier, whenever I would visit a relative or friend, an ackward situation would arise when they used to offer me a cup of tea, as you know it is customary to serve tea to guests, and I would say 'No'. I would not budge and would remain without sipping any hot drink. Though in summers, I had the option of requesting for soft drink.........lol! (from the host). My better half is found of tea and my parents would give her company. Though, when parents started living with my brother, she used to lack any company for tea sessions. Now, I take half a cup of tea with her in the morning and when we both return from office for the sake of giving her company (however, lately, I have found, it is developing into a regular habit ........).
I still do not take tea at my work place during day time to the amazement of my friends/colleagues, who stare at me when I tell them that I do not take tea. . We prefer taking 'Taj' tea, which is lighter in flavour and we do not feel like taking any other tea.
Have a great day!

Hi deepak,
Nice to hear from you. I think tea when prepared following the right methods has health benefits. However, I would not suggest anyone to start the habit for the sake of it. My sisters and mom are like you. Good for them. The ritual of tea drinking is been carried through generations. My grandma was a great tea drinker herself. I think she was the one who helped me develop the habit. And it's indeed sweet of you to give company to your wife.
Yes, the earlier discussion was deleted for reasons as my friend here pointed out, was valid. Will tell you later.

I used to be a drinker of black tea with milk and sugar but then a few years back, I gave up milk and sugar, so tea went with them.
I now only drink organic herbal teas that are made by a local lady, or ginger and honey tea that I make myself. I rarely consume these teas though as it is too hot for hot drinks most of the time, so I only drink them in winter.

Yeah I agree. I get the best kick from tea during winter although I drink it all through the day. Milk and sugar mean lot of calorie and good thing that you have stopped taking those. I am trying to lessen but saccharine tastes awful!

That is a great idea. I can use pure honey or fresh fructose. Thanks Bill.

I think that artificial sweeteners are just as bad, probably even worse than sugar is. I sweeten drinks with fruit, honey, or stevia and that is it! I do not trust anything that was made in a factory as a sweetener.

My tea drinking days are over with my childhood in Sri Lanka. My favorite tea was the black one without sugar but with a palm sugar cube held in the other hand that is bitten with every sip.It used to be divine in that cold weather while it was pouring.
I am a coffee drinker now.But I do not have anything against tea.As I am offered tea in some houses I just drink them like a good boy.
So it is no problem inviting me to your home Mimpi.

oh my goodness, i love chai tea with masala, real green tea (taiwanese or chinese), lemon and red zinger. I had the real chai at my friends house she bought hers i think probably from a specialty shop. That tea was so amazing.I don't drink tea all the time because of no one else drinks it in the house. :) it's hard to fix and you don't want to drink by yourself.

That's true. The ritual of tea drinking is beautiful and the houses that have devoted tea drinkers sit all together chit chatting over the cups of tea, with variety of snacks dependeing upon the time of the day.

I must have atleast 3 cups of tea everyday. Although I prefer the tea with a light to medium aroma and a few drops of milk, the tea that we have at the office is prepared with equal quantities of milk and water. I have tasted a variety of teas, and its practically the first thing one gets to taste when travelling around in India. The varieties and the methods of preparation are quite amazing. It's an amazing brew allright. Add a few drops of lemon instead of milk, is another variety I like.

Lemon tea is therapeutic and prevents and helps fighting a lot of common illnesses. Honey tea is another of its kind. I personally prefer light leaf tea with aroma filling my soul.

True. Most tea should be drunk without milk for health benefits. Some, however, requires milk to neutralize. Jasmine soothes us and refreshes us enormously.
