My menu for my birthday so far includes the following

macaroni and cheese from scratch, black beans and rice, some kind of pork-either pork loin or ribs, tossed salad, fruit, cake, ice cream. Subject to change. So what would you like to have to eat for your birthday? I'm also busy cleaning the house, restarting again today as soon as I get off the computer.

If I had a choice? I'd pick out fresh fish, asparagus, veggie salad, fruit, and a wheat roll with of course my b-day cake, as long as it had buttercream icing... Yeah I know, I eat all this healthy food only to ruin it with sugar and hydrogenated oil..

The way my family eats fish, it would be cheaper to send them all to a fish fry. I'm the only one who will eat asparagus and only with a cheese sauce. The restof that sounds good, must be we're all sugar and hydrogenated oil junkies.

You know, that is a really hard question. I would like appetizers of hummus and guacamole with tortilla chips. Flat iron steak on the Foreman Grill, medium rare. Baked Sweet Potato, and I guess lemon meringue pie.Grilled asparagus or Brussels sprouts I have a long way to wait though. In fact, I probably will be taken out to eat, and I do not anyone who makes lemon meringue pie that tastes as good as homemade. Are you having dinner guests?

I would really enjoy the hummus, steat, sweet potato, brussel sprouts and lemon merique pie. We'd have to try different places to find a terrific lemon merigue. I think the Homestead in Chazy, NY would be your best bet on old fashioned homemade.

Yep... don't know what vegetables I'd prefer, that's why I didn't name any. Maybe Brussels sprouts. Salmon is expensive, but for a birthday.... :)

Sounds excellent! Salmon steak for 5 is out of my pocketbook range. Wasn't sure I could afford the pork loin. Best Salmon I ever had was cooked by Tlingits (tl pronounced like kl) in Alaska. Melted in your mouth and was almost like candy. They cooked it over a wood fired grill and I'm not sure what they basted it with. You need some veggies in there! I might have jello pudding and fruit with a spice cake. Found my Mom's old spice cake recipe. I love chocolate cake, but seems like everyone has it for the birthday and I want something different. My husband likes his jellow with fruit cocktail. I think everything is better with walnuts in it. The ice cream probably will have walnuts or pecans in it.

turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans or broccoli, rolls and an apple pie of course, since my birthday is around Thanksgiving this was easy...

I would love to have pork steaks broiled til they are crispy, agrautin potatoes cooked from scratch, young baby peas, salad vegetables, chocolate fudge cake, and lots of ice cold milk. So did you get your house cleaned? How fun for you. Are you having company for your birthday?

Yeah, I'm having company. The house is cleaner than it was, but it still has far to go! Getting sick and getting behind on housework - both seem to be the story of my life. Oh if I could afford a maid. Even one once a week! All those sound good. I'd be very happy at your birthday party. I used to love peas fresh from the garden, just shucked, and cooked in milk and melted butter. A definite country treat! Sounds like you know your peas. Chocolate fudge is usually excellent! Great choices, maybe in the future. Thanks and take care.

That all sounds like fun. London broil is way out of my pocketbook and so is the oriental idea. Cooking for 5 who eat like 10!. Glad you had a combo pizza with a coupon. Take care and I ho0pe you had a happy birthday!

I did get pork loin. Salad is always a hit at my house. Chocolate cake, when you can get a moist one, is really good. Thanks and take care.

Good morning, dear girl....and belated Happy Birthday! Hope your meal was fantastic. Late in chiming in here, as plagued by the usual winter conditions living on an Island....Lots of power outages! Looks like a list of comfort foods, and I can understand why with the weather that you have been having in your region. Luckily enough, my birthday is near the end of March...so I get to have some of my favourites; Nettle soup, nettle souffle...and for protein, I would love a smorgy of "shellfish" (love prawns, lobster, crab) we get the prawns and crab here, a baby spinach, pecan, pear and blue cheese salad, with pomegranate-dijon dressing, and a mai-tai cheesecake. OOPS, forgot the veggies, which would be balsamic grilled veggies. Love 'em! Hope all is well with you and yours. Missed ya! Cheers!

fOk, I gotta ask, would you personally message me with your nettle recipes? We just use it for hair conditioner (if you're a brunett) around here. I'd love a shellfish smorgasbord. I love crab, prawns and scallops. Lobster doesn't do much for me, though. Balsamic grilled veggies sounds incredible! Like your salad, too. Changed some of the meal. Forgot to add the string beans. The rice dish became rice pudding. Everything else stayed the same. Yes, the weather we've been having has been COLD! Sorry you have so many outages. Must be frustrating. Take care

Where are you from and where is my invitation to your party=). I love everything on your menu! Especially the homemade mac and cheese. For my birthday dinner with family I like a good ole steak, carvel ice cream cake or premium cookies n cream ice cream from Publix.

From: Northeastern Most part of NY State on the Canadian border (we're nothing like NYC-think gardens, farms, small industry). Glad you love the menu. Hard to find someone who doesn't like mac and cheese. Steak and ice cream. Sounds delicious! No veggies? No fruit?
