I am sure that everyone of you just as I have heard this so many times. It is only until the past year that I have learned how true this is to be. It is so easy to look at other people & judge them by their actions. I have learned though that you do not know when you are judging everything that has happened in that person's life to bring them where they are at that point in life. You never know when you are judging people how hurt they have been by things that you have no idea about. People are so quick to jump up & say "Well if I was them, this is what I would do." I have done that so many times also. Thinking I know exactly what I would do if I were in their situation. The fact is , with me, I have learned that not always would I do exactly what I think would in that situation. You have so many factors that get you to certain points in your life. A lot of people, you have no idea what all has happened to them & everything that they have been through to get them where they are in life. It is so much easier to judge people than it is to look at them for who they are, or rather for what made them who they are. I just wanted to point out that a lot of times it is easier to judge people than to think about things like this. That I once never thought off. I use to be so quick to see people's situation's & to think or say "Well this is what I would do", thing is I have realized, you never know what you would do in that exact situation unless you are put in that situation & know how they feel & everything that has contributed to that situation. There is way more to things than a lot of us may really realize.

You are so right. We should all try to be empathetic when viewing the plight of others. Empathy is what puts us in their shoes and gives us a more accurate perception of their experience. Many times we feel sympathy for someone and say things we should not say or perceive situations based on our feelings about the person's situation and hurt the person instead of helping him/her. If we are trying to help someone, we should also not be judgmental because it will also affect the way we perceive their situation. If we are to understand like you say the things that we may not truly realize, we need to practice empathy (walk a mile in their moccasins).
