Is it really possible to get 8-10 hours of sleep at night?

I have come across numerous articles saying that even adults need at least 8-10 hours of sleep. I always do the math and it seems like I can't squeeze in that amount of time of sleep in a day. Has anyone gotten that much sleep?

Yes, of course everybody can get minimum 8 hours of sleep. 10 hours seem to much for me but 8 is the most ideal. The trick here is not to stay awake very late at night. Get to bed like 10 at night and get up around 6 in the morning. It is 8 hours already.

Of course it is, it all depends on your life though, so a lot of people find this hard to do. But then you might need to make sleeping a priority for yourself. Because sure you can do it, you just need to rearrange certain things in your life. (Personally, I do not get that much sleep every night though, but I do around 3 times a week, sometimes even more. That works for me!)

It all depends on your schedule and how much time you spend on mylot and other leisure activities. If you can't get enough time to sleep at night, then try to take naps if possible. Power naps are the bomb. :)

I think the quality of sleep is more important than the quantity of sleep. Some people can get by with just six hours of uninterrupted sleep, rather than eight hours of turning and tossing in bed. Age is another factor. Children sleep more than old people. it is hard to find elderly ones sleeping eight hours or more per day, unless they are sick and on medication. Most of us sleep less and poorly when we get older.

Yes it's important to get enough sleep every night.I don't go to bed early so i can sleep at least 8 hours. When i'm well rested everything goes more smoother, easier and i'm also in a good mod. But sometimes when i go to bed lately and i don't get enough sleep i can't get up in the morning,i fell so tired and fractious.

Yes, I've done sleeping more than 10 hours when I was working at night shift and all I do all day is to sleep. I love sleeping, when I don't have work at weekdays I sleep at the afternoon for almost 4 hours and sleep in the evening at around 11-12am and wake up in the morning at around 10-11 am.

Young children actually need 10-12 hours of sleep. If you work hard manual labor then you will sleep. If you work a desk job and you aren't using every muscle and brain cell then you won't need that much rest. So it depends on the amount of energy you expell during a given day.

Definitely possible! I sleep 8-hours as much as possible every night. I guess it's a matter of wanting it.

it can be really hard to get that much sleep, my daughter is only 8 month old and still gets up just after 5am for a feed do for me to get 8-10 hours sleep I would have to go to bed at 7-9pm but I could not possible go at 7 as that is when I put the children to bed then do some housework so the earliest would be 8pm but then I would never have any time with just my husband and I. Getting 10 hours sleep a night would be great but you are right, it is not that easy to find the time to get enough sleep.

Yes it is always possible. I make sure that i get at least 8 hours of sleep otherwise i get a headache and feel dizzy. As much as possible avoid drinking soda, coffee or anything with caffeine hours before bedtime as these will not help you fall asleep.
