This afternoon besides our building in Makati office, accident came for 11 constructions workers. Ten workers are confirmed dead, they are about to take a break for their lunch then suddenly the the scaffolding collapsed that it cause them to fall. They were on the 32th floor making a construction of the building.
I was thinking for those 10 people they're just working for their families but accident came along. We do not know how long are lives will be and I'm really sad for them. I hope the owner of the building would cover for all the expenses for those victims.

That's very unfortunate. I bet those workers have insurances that would cover for everything. Their jobs are very dangerous, especially the ones that climb high rises but somebody has got to it.

I don't think they have insurances because I've heard that they are only contractors, no other benefits and they were paid below minimum.

Really? I'm an engineering student and we tackled these things. It's illegal for construction workers to not have insurances because of the nature of their work.

Yes my friends, this is the Philippines, what are they going to do next? A Senate inquiry? Nobody seems to care until something terrible happens , then all of a sudden everybody seems to care, political grandstanding and media sensationalizing till another issue pops up and all is lost and forgotten again

Wow how sad and so unfortunate, how many go off to work and try to earn a living and end up this way. This also saddens me as the families must be suffering deeply.
I am sure their own insurance will cover but it certainly will not compensate such a great loss.

Yes, life is uncentain, we'll never know what's in store for us in the future. Only God knows everything, so we better live a good life here, enjoy our lives and be sure we're not hurting anyone so if it's time for us to face our Creator we will be ready. Let's not be afraid of it. Its part of our lives, there's a beginning and there's an end. Let's just pray that we can take whatever comes in our lives and that it will be easy.

My heart bleeds for these workers. In order to have decent life, they're forced to work in a very dangerous situation with minimal pay and no insurances at all. Imagine risking your life for a few bucks and not let your family go hungry? Many employers are cheating on their workers cause they know works opportunity is very scarce and surely these poor workers would bite in just not to go hungry. Promises have been made for the family's victims and I hope, they'll be true to their promises!

It's really scary to be honest. I work at the Enterprise Bldg. I also sometimes take the bus going home. But I take the MRT more often. Eton tower is a sight away from here. This city is no longer safe for everybody. Law and order cannot be maintained. Safety precautions and guidelines are being disregarded by contractors and owners. What else could we experience other than this? We all live one life. And these are tragic moments we shall all keep in our vivid memories in the days to come.

Indeed life is uncertain. Nobody knows what will happen or when will it end. I guess all of will just have to live life to the foollest, so that when the end comes, there will be no regrets.
Too many accidents and deaths have come these days that it is now very alarming to a point that people start to think what will happen next.

Owe boy what a terrible accident this is. Thats why its good to try to stay out of trouble and live your life to its fullest. It will be great if we could live life without having to worry about so many tragic disasters happening one place after another. Life is great but in the end we don't wanna see. It will be great if mankind could live forever without human errors.
