The climate change is felt everywhere, in Australia, Canada, Los Angeles USA, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and other countries including our country, the Philippines. It's unusual in our country, this month of January is raining especially in the countryside. It is common for us every January to see the sun shining from 6 in the morning till 6 in the evening all over the country. But what happening today is the rain beating the sun and the result is flood. I think, we cannot control the rain but we can control the flood. STOP cutting the trees in the higher area (mountains, hills and others. Much better if we can avoid cutting tress, why not plant a tree in every corner especially the flood prone area. We should be also have a discipline in proper disposal of our garbage, Teach our children, to fight this climate change. Is it possible to teach climate change in the school not only here but also in all other countries? We have a lot of time to prepare for this phenomenon, it is not too late.

Well climate change is already here and how to combat it really very much depends on us, like the places you mentioned, this are all but evidences of the phenomenon happening globally and I think much worst is still to come when the polar ice caps start to melt or I would say start to melt already thereby raising water levels especially in our country where our land is just a few feet above water level. I'm an optimist and I think something could still be done if we just stick to what you have mentioned and make the younger generation conscious of the problem. Good post, and welcome to Mylot

Hi. I think climate change and other environmental issues are being taught in schools, even in our country. It may not be that extensive especially in the public schools but that problem of lack of education on the matter can easily be addressed. What I fear is that teaching is not enough if we don't do anything about it. What makes it worst is that our government, specifically the local government units, has no political will to institute changes in how we treat the environment. They're having a hard time instilling discipline since they can't even discipline themselves. But you're right. We, as individuals, can do our share in protecting the environment no matter how a small a contribution it is. Simple proper garbage disposal can go a long way.
