I was watching the Australian open today. I saw the most gracefuly player just not in his usual form. He seemed to be stunned in some way.
It occured to me that the design on Djokovic's shirt may have something to do with it. I dont know if any of you watch Tennis. I am a great fan of Fedex. I am not going to patronize Federer saying there was something wrong with him today. That is so insulting. Djokovic truly played superb game, and was able to generate a lot of speed in his returns. But my mind told me that Fedex is not as hopeless. Perhaps it is the effect of the T-shirt that Djokovic wore.
Recently I read something about persistent vision, and I just wanted to know from the scientific ones out there - can such a thing happen on tennis court? After all, they were playing under lights.
My curiosity is aroused. Now I want to keep tabs on players who wear horizontal or diagonal blue straps or black bands to confirm my theory that such a thing can happen. I also request you all to let me know where I can check on any previous tennis recordings to get some statistics on this.

I am also not a great one - just love Tennis, Squash, Badminton, Cricket, and snooker. My father was into all these when he was younger, so you know unwittingly I started liking them. :)
As to stripes - yes - I do feel that it makes some difference. It is one of the worst performances from Federer, and I couldnt help thinking that this factor must have contributed some bit because the match was played under lights.

Aw - you are missing a whole lot then. There is a lot to the world. :) May be you can start to enjoy it all now...
Yeah, but I was looking at movement of these lines and bars in the night. I should think that eyes are open wider during the night times, consequently the persistence of vision should be more during night times than during day time. If the band is blue colored and diagnoally running across, and its color blends with the background, chances are that the person who stands in front of such a person cannot co-relate with any object behind, and therefore, he should be feeling that the person has not moved, when in fact, the person has moved.

Cricket!!! Bhai is a freak... I have seen him weep when India lost the World cup.
I personally feel Indian Cricket is more about money than the sport... look at the amount of money they make whether they play or not....
Anyways, it is not the place for cricket.... I love watching Tennis and used to play badminton at school and college.
I am looking forward now to the women's matches and am going in for another favorite of mine - Kim Clijsters... Idol of me and many... look at the facts - she is married and has a girl aged and she had retired for some time for the family... and now she emphatically won the earlier US Open emphatically... Now she should win the Australian Open too and she is already there in the finals... Good Luck to her
